1998: NY: "I think, therefore iMac" (1st gen iMac Poster)

help me fill in the blanks.

thanks

I'm looking for the iPod Posters from 2008. You know the color one's, where the people dance.

Does anybody have any idea where to get them?

I just got an iPhone 3G sort of poster from walmart. My mom works there so she can acquire them (I'm 13). It has the apple logo and says iPhone 3G in it's font. Then it has an iphone on it on the home screen and it says "now available at walmart". It's made out of very thin cardboard (not like cardboard box cardboard) and my mom says that it goes around the antitheft detector things that start beeping if you try to steal something. I'll post a pic later as I'm typing this from my iPod touch.

I've been after this one for a while. I believe it was the one in their first West Coast Computer Faire booth:

Does anyone know the history of this one? I just bought one on eBay, and this is the only mention I've found of it on the Internet. It says copyright 1980- is it really the one they used in their booth?

Apple Retail signage

When I worked at Apple retail I was part of the visual team. Apple would make us destroy all of the signs however I managed to get some before they met the dumpster. I'd like to sell two of them, one is a very large vinyl poster 34x50" that was in the retail stores during a christmas season. The poster is half black/ half white with an Video iPod in the center. The other is a large thick sign promoting movies and has pirates of the Caribbean playing on a large iPod. Both are extremely rare and were never offered to the public.

I still don't understand why they destroy them, Can you explain that to us?

I think for the exact reason of what I'm doing, to keep people from selling it. We would have to destroy almost everything, however if it didn't have an Apple logo on it or you couldn't tell it was Apple related then we could keep it. The huge 15' banners in the stores actually get sent back to Apple. All the window displays (the huge Santa and Elf from a few Christmases ago) have to be smashed. A manager would take a black sharpie and exact-o knife to any small signage and would escort us to the dumpster. They were very serious about destroying it all. However I had one manager that would let me keep some stuff. I have a few amazing things. I might post pics..

Super Rare, each was suposed to be destroyed. Hung in a retail store.

From left to right:
-Life sized iPod shuffle
-Vinyl iPod video Christmas edition sign
-Apple light box (this was part of a window display that use to have "iTunes 99¢" The iTunes was destroyed but I was allowed to keep the light box. I did the art work on it, and it still lights up very bright, very heavy)
-(above light box) iPod Nono table display, reads "Completely remastered. The new iPod nano"
-Vinyl abstract iPod Nano
-iPod video table display, reads: "Movies. Now playing on an iPod near you."

I have a shed full of most of the last three or four years worth of posters.

iPhone, iPod, MacBook, iMac, all that sort of stufff. The vinyl A0 size stuff...

Should I eBay them?

EDIT

If I was to sell the 200cm by 100cm HUGE vinyl wall banners, of the iMac aluminium range & the unibody MacBook Pro range, what'd be a good price to sell for? I see currently a MacBook Air banner for nearlly $400 USD now! Whoa!

I believe these were dealer posters. I worked as our certified Mac tech at a ComputerLand during the 1980-1990's, and we were given these by Apple. I had one hanging above my work bench, and when Apple pulled out from ComputerLand, we were told to destroy them. Mine found it's way to my house, and is now hanging in my office. :D

Does anyone know where I can find Apple posters of any kind?

Any Think Different or iPod ones would be great.

I've tried Ebay and calling Apple but found both to have none.

Here are a few of the originals I have collected along the way...

Ouch, those are expensive.

Those are the prices you have to pay for being an Apple freak ;)

OH
MY
GOD

Here's a story that will curdle your blood.

WAY back in late 1999 or early 2000 I ordered 100-some iMacs for our labs. In each box was a full set of the smaller posters. They ended up in the recycling bin. We didn't know then they'd be such a big deal. I have eight of them in my home hanging on the my office wall, but if I had them all I could retire.
DAMMIT.
Some pictured....

Oh I have one of those! I also have a poster somewhat like that one except it is an "Apple Milestones" poster, celebrating their first million dollars in sales up to 100 million I believe. If I find some time I will take a picture and put up on my blog. Here is one I took a picture of, too bad I stored it so poorly. Apple used to give poster's out all the time or they were cheap in the Apple campus store.
