All of the guys they picked are T-O-O-L-S.

Doug is the worst of the bunch.... someone calling him that owes him money? Whatever.... frickin bookie.... go break some fingers jagoff.

Seeing these schmucks would NOT get me to buy an iPhone if I hadn't already.

The iPhone guy from Apple's website makes a TREMENDOUSLY better sales pitch than these guys.

Hell, even Adobe's Johnny L is better pitch man.

I miss the days when people in advertisements were good looking and likeable.

me too, it's like they've gone back to the days of making appeal-to-everyone-and-wind-up-appealing-to-no-one advertising. it's like they've gone back to the days they had kevin costner in the ads. and they have those creepy guys doing the iphone tutorials, it's like watching an airline safety video. they talk to people like they are 4. apple makes far suprior products, and has horrible advertising, on the other hand microsoft makes far worse products, but actually has really creative and good advertising.

... and a Leopard release date? :p

Guess thats still too much to ask for at this stage.

I agree, plus I really don't like these ads as much as the original batch of iphone ads...:)

They should do one with everything you lose with 1.1.1:(

:apple:Best cell phone Ever! BUT, could be WAY better!

BIGANDTASTY:cool:

DOUG! Listen to your freaking voice mail its a 4 minute story of where to meet so i can pay you back!

idiot never answers his iphone

Doug, Elliot, Stephano...

Where are the iPhone women!?!
why is everyone all pissy about there not being women? you get all your own razors, clubs, cancer awareness magnets... isn't it time the men got their 15 minutes of attention?

Did anyone notice that when the camera cuts to the closer shot of "Elliot", the iPhone disappears out of his hands? Weird. Anyway, they're OK, but I'm not blown away. Very pedestrian ads (um...pun intended?).

A bit strange...

So the Stephano ad:

1. Its shot in Chelsea, and I walk past that auto shop every time I'm in town. No biggie.

2.That Buick Riviera he's getting into, I took a photo of it, with my iPhone. Dont know if it was the day they shot that, but it's a nice ride.

These things ... they're odd.

Too bad the commercials kind of blow.

We need a Ellen Feiss version

Yeah, it could go something like this...

EF: I have an iPhone. It's a really good phone and it had all these wonderful 3rd party apps on it and then I downloaded the lastest Firmware 1.1.1 and it went beep, beep, beep, beep, beep and all my 3rd party apps were broken... It's like... a bummer.

Some people are complaining that the latest Apple ads are not up to par with what usually comes out from Cupertino... I saw on looprumors.com their 'headline' AT&T launches new iPhone ads. So I wonder, which is it, an Apple ad or an AT&T ad?

Well the Ridley Scott ad is an exception, and the G3 era had good ads. But I've hated everything since the switch campaign and the sign-a-long original iPod ads (the fat guy singing My Generation, come on!!).

Apple is one of the few companies in my opinion that makes great products but crappy ads. 99% of all the other companies out there have this the other way around.

What about "Think Different"? Another classic ad campaign from Apple. But I agree, most of the ipod stuff is just eye candy.

The original iPhone campaign with just a hand demonstration was well done. Apple/Chiat Day had to show all the things this incredible device can do without making it seem like a Salad Shooter commercial. They were simple, informative, friendly, and let the phone be the star. And they kept my attention. Perfect.

And I wouldn't say 99%. More like 0.99%. Advertising today is in a sorry state.

Unfortunately, it's an Apple campaign. It's even on their site. http://www.apple.com/iphone/

The 2nd one, the guy can't remember his fiance's bosses name or her bosses fiances name - if I heard that correctly ???
LMAO!

Yeah, and the iPhone saved the day because they never even knew he couldn't remember the name...then he goes on national television...hmm

these ads remind me of the Newton intro video. Remember that? I'm wondering if this is a stab at that...

simple, boring, but a very effective way to convey the idea that "everyone can benefit from having an iPhone" (i sound like i work for Apple) lol

It's so easy to completely bash someone on TV who you've never met, isn't it? Well I happen to know Elliot because his girlfriend is one of my best friends from high school. He's actually a pretty cool guy if you got to know him.

But of course you'd rather watch a 30 second clip and solely based on that go ahead and character assassinate a complete stranger.

That's very classy of you.

"i pulled up a website to get my gf, bosses, fiance's, mother's, uncle's sisters name.. and he never knew i didn't know"

that is such a weak selling point it's comical.

apple's ad's are terrible, they are so contrived. I liked the think different stuff.

"Think Different" with a pic of Mahatma Gandhi is not contrived? The rebels, the crazy ones, the misfits...

Looks like Apple is finally including the business market in their commercials ...nice.

Although, the endings seem awkward IMO.

Also, whatever happened to the iPod touch commercial?

Too bad you cant get the phone on your att business account tho.
