Audio over bluetooth

Anyone know if iPhone 4 will broadcast audio besides phone calls over bluetooth? My 3G will only send my phone calls to a bluetooth, but it would be so nice to be able to listen to news, music, etc through the headset.

My iPhone delivers by 3PM tomorrow:D:D:D

243 pages is significantly longer than the original Macintosh users manual, which included things like "your information does not get lost when you scroll the screen" and "this is a mouse".

HAHAHAAH I seriously just burst out laughing. I'm sure in 20 years we'll laugh that we had to explain to our moms/sig others/friends what "tapping" and "scrolling" and multi-gestures are ... that is if our thoughts don't control an OS by then ...

User guides usually have a nice tidbit of information I didn't otherwise already know... so I'll give it a flick when I get the chance.

I just "opened in iBooks" as my first PDF / attachment to open with another program! FINALLY! (also could have used DocsToGo)

Doesn't that depend on the equipment you are sending too as well? My 3GS will broadcast audio to my wifes car radio which is setup to accept Bluetooth as an audio source as well as telephony, my Merc however will only accept the phone as a phone.

I'm not sure, maybe it is a 3G/3Gs thing. All I know is that the only thing I seem to be able to pick up on my bluetooth headset is phone call audio.

it depends if the device you're trying to connect too is A2DP compatible. iPhone 3G and 3GS are Bluetooth 2.1 which I believe allows them to have A2DP connectivity, but the receiving bluetooth source needs to be A2DP compatible as well.

Facetime tip

You may need to turn it on. My buddy called me and his facetime button was there and mine was not. I had to go into to settings - phone - and turn the thing on (then it took a sec while it "activated"). No idea why his was on by default, but whatever; hopefully that saves a person or two a moment of "Where the *#&% is my facetime?!?"

Since I'm going to wait to get my phone until Otterbox releases the defender case, this'll be good iPhone porn.

did they reverse the microphone/speaker ports? It looks backwards to my 3g. That's gonna make my sound amplifying car mount suck :(

I don't own a 4 but based on how they modeled the 3GS in the User Guide, I'd say they did reverse the location of the speaker and microphone.

Yeah, the speaker used to be on the left side. I know this because I subconsciously learned to hold the iPhone with the right port resting on my thumb when watching videos. Today when I received my 4, I did that and thought "why is the sound so low and muffled?"

(FYI, not sure how it is compared to the 3GS, but the volume on the 4 is a LOT better than my 3G. When I'm not covering it with a thumb, that is.)

PDF in Mobile Safari --> iBooks

How do you do that?

EDIT: I see. An email attachment. I thought you meant you opened it in iBooks direct from Safari. I guess that's too handy.

Actually, you can do it from Mobile Safari, at least on iOS 4.0. Here are some screen captures:
