Just wondering what people do if they think they have to hand over their laptop for repair. The last time i blanked the whole laptop (basic setup) and copied the clone back on after.

I think my superdrive could do with alittle tweak / repair as it wont read everything my brothers can - we have the same laptop. So i might have to give it soon.

Do you make a clone then hand over the laptop blank?
Do you do nothing - just hand it over?
Turn on file vault?

I dont have any 'secret' stuff and everything important is organised into 2 encrypted dmgs. I could delete the the 2 dmgs (1gb) and the keychain and feel comfortable.

Curious what others do?

Clone, fresh install Leopard

I so far haven't sent it in with my new RAM, if and when I do, I will replace the RAM back.

I do nothing but then again I never keep Important Files on the computer. I keep them on a external HD.
