Apple software is just terrible lately. I regret the iOS 18 beta and would revert back fully if I could but the Apple Watch cannot without going to the idiot bar. I’ve lost faith in Apple as a company. The level of polish just isn’t here.

Hoping for 18.1 today. But who knows
Oh my, such a comment only proofs the usual online nonsense without having any glimpse of the craft itself.
It’s a beta version, how much do Apple and other companies have to claim to not use such a beta on a daily driver device.
It’s a beta for a reason. You can start the usual complaining about an unstable OS with the final release of iOS18 but before it’s even more bs as usual.
Furthermore the iOS 18.0 branch is newer as the 18.1 beta so far (expect the AI features). It proofs furthermore that you’re only seeing some numbers without having a real clue about what you are talking about.

I always welcome updates to the current version when it’s this close to the new version…not everyone will be updating/upgrading to X+1 on launch day. Heck, some will/must stay on the current version.

iOS 17 looks quite polished to me. Battery life had always been slightly unpredictable but seems to have improved with 17.6.

I did try iOS 18 b3 on my 13P for a few days and haven’t encountered any showstoppers. Reverted to 17 when I chose not to have to think about updating every week.
I just don’t understand why it’s so flipping difficult to fix the squared off notifications.

It is not the only bug that "lives forever":
Because they aren’t as good a company as they used to be. Simply put
I have literally nothing to add...

I mean when it’s in public release. It’s a bag of hurt and is not very impressive by feature set.
Which iOS release of the last years was impressive?
I honestly can only remember iOS 13 where some „Desktop-like“ features were finally added to the iPhone like a real! file manager, download manager, powerful photo and video editing.

I’ve been on 15.4 for over 2 years and just recently upgraded to 17.6 and it’s working pretty well. Some frequently used apps started requiring IOS16 or later so I had no choice lol. But I’ve been using it for 5 days and it works pretty great for me (on a 13PM)

This is getting really tiresome. These morons are constantly relying on xx.x.1 releases to “fix” their mistakes. Should’ve listened to my gut and waited before updating all my devices to 17.6.
It might not be down to Apple making mistakes.
New security flaws are found daily and are in need to be patched, it only takes a few minutes if you don't schedule it do be updates "off-hours".

Except it is their mistake. It fixes Advanced Data Protection Bug that they broke. This is common occurrence nowadays unrelated to security fixes.

Not necessarily. Lets say Qualcomm releases new drivers for the chipset that include a number of security fixes, that might impact how things do work on a OS level.
Not saying that's the problem here but ADP relies on networking components working properly, so it could be related.
