Everything old is new again. This looks just like the original design in our city. It’s was only a Genius Bar at the time but it makes the most sense. The current pickup station is stupid and confusing.

Have you ever noticed how, in Apple pictures, the Genius Bar almost always has male staff while the Pickup area usually has women serving customers?

Sometimes I wish they'd actually turn the Genius Bar into an actual bar.....that serves coffee, teas, sandwiches, and sweets. That way I can have a tasty meal while I wait.

Apple Hebbal features a unified Genius Bar and Pickup counter, merging Apple's technical support and online order collection services into a single area. This two-in-one area has rolled out in a handful of new and renovated stores over the past year.

I remember distinctly that Apple Store Haarlem in the Netherlands +6 years ago also had a long desk for sales, pick-up and support in the back of the store. We had an appointment there for a battery issue with an iPad Air and I was expecting a Genius bar like I knew from the first flag ship Apple Store in Chicago (2004). Instead we were seated at this huge desk - maybe 30 feet long and 8 feet wide? With only a few customers at the same time at this desk, everyone got so much (personal) space and no hard time limit. They managed it very well, without impersonal screens showing who's next - like at IKEA.

Good to see the new store opening in Bangalore and happy with Apple's retail expansion in India. Would like Apple to bring monthly AppleCare+ to India.

Where are the Apple Store’s all these people say they’re getting immediately served?

Any time I’ve gone in hoping for desperate ad-hoc help, they’ve always politely denied me, and offered to make a booking - which was only available in the next 4-6 weeks. Whenever I return for a booking, I typically wait on a bench for at least 15 minutes. As though the set time was more of a suggestion.

It may be a pretty store, but I get faster service just about anywhere else. No other outlet has ever required me to make a booking in advance.
