^^^ so true.
Here is my story: I was looking for a deal and had a friend of mine pick it up for me in Delaware: No Sales Tax + Student discount = $1099.
12 days after purchase (within the inital 14) I brought my MBP to a local store (in Virginia) and explained them that micro center was selling them for $999. After trying several ways, he couldn't get it to PM normally (later we found out it was b/c of the tax difference between states).
After all was said and done, the ACTUAL difference came out to 50 bucks. (With tax here in VA the $999 came out to 1049.99 vs the $1099 I paid in Delaware.)
He said there was nothing he could do... I looked at him and politely (but firmly) said:
"Listen Mark, I understand you've tried your best - but is there nothing you can do in the name of customer service? I want to still buy the computer from you guys, and I really do not want to take my business elsewhere."
Long story short, he gave me a 50 dollar gift card and then credited it back to one of my credit cards.
This is why Apple stays in business, they have FANTASTIC customer service.
Just mention it to them, it'll ring a bell.
