The Cube, but with room for a normal sized graphics card, and an extra PCIe slot. And in aluminum.

it's not a product per-se, but it's a "Feature".

COLORS! - Oh how I wished apple would allow me to pick my color of of the anodized aluminum (a-la iPod Nano 2G). Always wanted a black MacBook Pro.

The "Desktop" mac.

It's the missing product in their line up.

1 Optical Drive (slot loading)
2 Hard Drive Bays
3 Ram slots
3 Expansion Slots
Integrated Video (same GPU as entry Mac Pro/Top iMac, which ever is faster)

Have the option of vertical or horizontal orientation. Similar to the PS3 or Mbox2

Price it at £1,099 AT MOST

Use appropriate technology for the price. People wouldn't buy a Core 2 Duo based system with those specs but a Core i7 or Core 2 Quad with a 2.66Ghz Clock Speed would be worth the money.

I wouldn't have being able to afford a macintosh as early as I did if it wasn't for the beige G3 desktop.

Offer a special edition of the MacBook Pro in ... titanium.

They wouldn't do that. Because it would look like the old machine, and the college students, and trophy wives wouldn't want to buy it. I mean, the MBP is just labeled Pro, so that Apple can justify charging $900 extra for a 15" display. There is nothing Pro about that machine anymore. Because the college students don't require Pro, just good looks.

Interesting how the most votes for a revival of an Apple product seem to be for the only one over the last ten years which was considered to be a complete failure, the Cube.

I think it's because the Cube had so much potential, but it just never could live up to it. I think people love it because it was the first real exposure to an ultra-small form factor. I love the design of the Cube, and I think it would be pretty cool if they could stretch out the Mini a bit to look like a modern version of the Cube. It's the iCube!

Also, I agree with the all the calls for the 12" PowerBook. I never thought that extra 1.3" on the MacBook was that big of a deal, until I saw a 12" PB and a MacBook side by side. I think 12" is a sweet spot, as it is really portable, but easier to use (to me, anyway) than the 9 and 10 inch netbooks. My big, clumsy, fingers don't work very well on tiny little touchpads and keyboards.

I really wish Apple would bring back the design of the G4 Cube. That was probably my favorite Apple design aside from the UMBP.

What products/designs do you wish Apple would bring back?

LOL, we have three that have been running nearly nonstop since we got them back in 2000. They are used to show looping slideshows of student work. I've replaced one hard drive, and updated the RAM, and that's it as far as maintenance. I still can't believe they are still running... :D

The Cube was a lot more than just an external form factor, it was a complete re-engineering of the computer's internals to make them fit into a radically different space. This is why it cost so much to produce. Putting a computer in a cubic-shaped box isn't much of a problem, but simply doing that won't make it a Cube as we knew it. Super-sizing a mini so it looks more like a Cube is a design exercise that Apple would never attempt.

Yeah the cube is really cool, but it's replaced by the mini.

iMac G4 lamp design is cool and useful but was hard to service.

You can replicate some of the functionality with a monitor stand but nothing comes close then the iMac G4, because monitor stands typically take up alot more room and need to be secured.

It was a failure because many people go by machine speed / cost, and don't consider other factors that changes the computing experience.

At that time the cube was really pricy for speed / cost BUT ALMOST SILENT. Many people have not worked with a silent computer before and don't put it as a priority because they don't know about it.

Profit failure, not a design failure.

Profit failure, not a design failure.

Yes, as I believe I have said already. The point I was making is that no product Apple has released over the last ten years has exposed the company to more ridicule than the Cube. It's interesting that so many would like to see it come back.
