A peace offering to the movie industry in the form of an iMovie Store. It just seems to me like the MPAA has been much more resistant to change than the RIAA, and that is saying something. I think that if Apple can crack the music industry at least somewhat, they can do it with the movie industry. New releases would be $12.99 or thereabouts and personal use rights would follow essentially the same model as iTMS.

Request List:
(in no particular order)

iPod with line-in for recording
PowerBook G5 with two battery slots or a battery slot and a swappable optical drive
iPhone with MicroDrive and 1-2MP camera
Multi-button mouse with scroll wheel

A $599 headless Mac. Especially if it had a replacable video card. Even at $699, it would still fly off shelves. Shoot, even at $799, I'd buy probably buy 2. The Single 1.8 G5 is nice and all, and I get why it's priced at $1499. It's a good computer, as is the eMac, but people have been screaming for this for awhile. I'm tired of watching people buy $600-$800 cheapy PCs because "Macs are too expensive".

There has to be some way Apple could make one and still be profitable.

Add your own, trash these, comment on why it'll never happen, have fun:

• iPhone - Moto/Apple team up to launch the iPhone. iSync compatible, slider phone with 512MB flash, color screen, USB 2.0 port. Basically a flash iPod that slides open to reveal a keypad for phone use, while utilizing the click wheel to scroll though menu's of contacts, etc. Will also store photo's on the flash drive for viewing on the color screen. $400

Flip over Slide for me.

Real aluminium shell, not plastic.

Built in antennae.

Megapixel+ camera with flash.

Tri or quad band.

GPRS class 12 or better.

Half a gig or a gig built in with expandable memory in the form of an SD slot.

Symbian series 60 OS for full Mac OSX / isync compatability.

Bluetooth.

Vibration ring option.

External Caller ID/picture display.

Programable/personalised ring tones for all numbers in address book.

BT wireless headset support for music and phone.

Dream stuff...

GPS...ok, maybe too early for that...

WiFi remote for AirTunes...

Touchscreen PDA features...

I know this is one for the 'not likely to happen' column, but... how about a worldwide iTunes Music Store – or at least the ability to buy music from iTMS based in other countries?

Like I say, it's not likely for reasons discussed a hundred times before (copyright law, etc, etc...) but we can but dream!

While we are placing orders...

I would like the Cube back... only make it affordable this time. Sold.

A sub-notebook/handtop. One of those always carry computers like the OQO or the Sony u101. Sold.

Sony had a wireless TV/Web Tablet a little while ago, I think Apple could do a much better job -- it would need to come with some sort of VideoAirport Express. Sold.

And maybe a T-shirt.

iScreen - a wireless monitor that has tablet functionality. Would connect to a central computer/server type thing.

i(name?) - Some central server/machine that takes care of everything in my home theater. Has a built-in HDTV DVR, DVD player, CD player, Amplifier, and video game console with a OS X to run plc apps. Can be accesible through the iScreen for Mac apps, movies, music, etc.

iSpeakers - Apple-designed home theater speakers. Maybe partner with Bose.

iRemote - to go with the media center thingy.

iTV - gotta have a TV to match the speakers and remote.

iPod Pro - capability for phone, video, music, photos, calendar, address book. Can sync with thei(name?) system.

iCar - might as well have them design my car, too. Could easily partner with VW on a design.

I know some people that have that Sony Wireless TV thing--it's pretty bad assed. I'd love if Apple made something like that, but better.

amen

Aluminum Colored (non mini) regular iPods........I'd like to have the non-scratch factor of the minis on the regular iPods along with some color choices (and not a U2 iPod)

amen to that, i love the white and shiny mirrored chrome...dont get me wrong, but i hate living on edge about scratches and needing to worry about cases and whatnots.

I want a Powermac with three main processing cores, which incorporate a series of miniture subspace field generators to allow the processing of optical data at rates faster than the speed of light. AND a Optical Data Network to connect the Powermac to every component in my House and a Subspace link maintained with hand-held or remote devices needing computer access.

I meant Apple products you'd like to see...in the next year or so. :D Although I think I like what you're saying (that is, if I understand what you're saying) :) :p

My list:

512MB RAM standard on ALL desktops and all PowerBooks. Only iBooks should have 256mb standard.

Wireless keyboard & mouse standard on iMac and PowerMac

fxStudio: new iLife '05 app for iMovie special effects (lightsabers, Matrix stuff, explosions). Like After Effects or AlamDV but with iLife ease-of-use.

And of course,
iPhone
Headless eMac or Cube
Multi-button/scroll wheel mouse

Things I think Apple should do next year... this year.... 5 years ago
Free Quicktime Pro (Paying for fullscreen sucks)
iMac that removes Nanosaur (wtf) and adds Tony Hawk. (Marble Blast is addictive)
Bring back the freaking PDA (Compatable with both Mac & Win, I can see it attracting more marketshare... and I mean the marketshare of business people with money)

Things I wish Apple would do next year
40" Apple display (Why stop at 30").
Apple branded hotdogs and a contest for a lifetime supply that I would win.

I'd like to see:
A completely silent Mac. Some other form of storage rather than a spinning HD would be good. I can't stand the whine that comes from HDs after a year...

I second the following pre-submitted ideas:
Being able to buy songs from any iTunes store,
An iPod with stereo recording abilities.

Updates for:
Garageband. Lose the wood theme, make it snappier.

And the one thing that I'd really like to see Apple make is:
everything CHEAPER!

I would love to see an iPod compatible digital video camera. Not sure about the specs on the camera but I think it would be a "prosumer" type. The iPod would take the place of the tape cartridge, and would slide neatly into a dock on the side. Of course the camera would be iPod white. This would require a very high capacity HD (how about a 100 GB iPod while were at it?)

Oh Im sorry wrong Century, I would like the Powermacs to get bumped to at least 3.2GhZ and dual core G4s in the Powerbooks more built in ram and lower prices on the High end Powerbook. I would also like to see a better video card in the iMac G5. And better control over Air Tunes

1. iWorks 7.0. Apple needs a new consumer productivity suite badly, AW is definately showing its age. Give it every feature MS Works has and a few it doesn't. Price drop of 79.99 to 49.99

2. AppleOffice. Officer suite Consisting of Document, Keynote, a preadsheet, and a filemaker 7 based spreadsheet with a GUI overhall. $99 for the individual Applications, $179 for the set or $129 for the education version.
