Apple is offering a two-month free Apple TV+ trial as a tie-in promotion for new documentary film "My Mind & Me" starring actress and singer Selena Gomez.

A URL link to the offer was shared by Gomez on Twitter as a "special gift" to her fans ahead of the film's availability to stream on Apple TV+, starting November 4.

Clicking on the link gives "new and qualified returning subscribers" a redeem code that is valid until December 2 and gives them two months of Apple TV+ access for free. The sub automatically renews after the trial expires unless it's canceled.

Apple typically offers a seven-day Apple TV+ trial, unless customers buy an Apple device, in which case they get three months free, or they opt for a one-month trial of Apple One, which bundles Apple TV+ with up to five other Apple services.

The documentary film follows Selena Gomez through the last six tumultuous years of her life, during which she spent time in a psychiatric facility, had a failed relationship with Justin Bieber, and underwent a kidney transplant following complications caused by the auto-immune disease lupus.

After years in the limelight, Selena Gomez achieves unimaginable stardom. But just as she reaches a new peak, an unexpected turn pulls her into darkness. This uniquely raw and intimate documentary spans her six-year journey into a new light.

I have no idea who this person is. I really wish Apple would invest in some legacy content, perhaps buy a studio such as Sonly, to beef up its catalog rather than spend on stuff like Selena Gomez.

They are just about always rumored to be in the pool... but never pull the trigger. Same with game studios. Apparently Apple Inc. values content about like many of "us" here do: wanting everything for about nothing... and no commercials (unless they are Apple ads).

In spite of having abundant cash to do so, I doubt Apple ever will buy a big library/studio... unless someone wants to basically give them their accumulated content for close to nothing.

Barely know anything of Selena, and I'm happy for her for any accomplishments in her career (as I would for almost anyone)... but man... Apple constantly gloryfing celebrities and this weird celebrity worship is really tiring and ... cringe. (for me at least) Bizarre. And then the celebrities themselves resent it when the paparazzi and websites like TMZ don't leave them alone or treat them like humans... Snake eating it's tail.

Sweet! Especially after the price hike. This will provide me with Apple TV for the holiday season.
Ted Lasso, Dickinson, the new Ethan Hawke film: This promo is greatly appreciated.

Apple seems really bad at appealing to ”the youth” with some of their services and try to make up for that by focusing on celebrity. But their either WAY behind or feature celebrities in things that don’t make sense. I look at Apple TV+ and see a bunch of celebrities who are just past their expiration dates. If not , then they’re cast in the wrong project (Tom Holland in “Cherry”).

This seems to be in Apple’s DNA. Remember when Steve Jobs was all excited about The Beatles on iTunes? Apple is great at appealing to 40 something’s with their choice in celebrities, but otherwise they should really focus on better content that appeals to a younger demographic.

*EDIT* I’m specifically talking about SERVICES and not HARDWARE.
