Going back to this, Apple did confirm the MBA will come with high impedance support!!!
Yep, my post is actually satire taking the Mickey out of Apple's decision to remove the jack from the iPhone.

They claimed it was old tech, and yet here they are, updating to high impedance support for the jack in all the M1 Macs.

Just put it back in the phone ffs, and yes, with high impedance support.

It's an annoyance for audio professionals. And a nightmare for teenagers (and parents), since they aren't good at using wireless headphones without losing them or breaking them, and yeah, the need for a dongle is super annoying.

Even when I worked as a cable guy for a while I learned that wired connections will always be faster than wireless, then seeing Phil mentioned that 3.5mm was a right move forward only because they said so it’s a slap in the face considering how bad they face planted last year with the hi res/lossless rollout on Apple Music lolol

Now it’s making a comeback and I agree I hope they implement it on their ipad/iphone and future hardware upgraded ipod(i kid but deep down I feel they discontinued the old one to upgrade it with possible upgraded 3.5mm jac)

one can hope.

Ha ha, you really are a glass overflowing with hope kinda guy!

Here's my cynical view... they removed the jack to nudge everyone onto AirPods, being a massively overpriced, disposable, mega profit item. Yeah, they removed functionality for profits.

On the forums haha I try to be, deep down I know the line up is completely dead so I raised my white flag and starting buying spare parts for my old iPod classic and make a few minor upgrades 🤣.

Like you mentioned they did it for profits and then all of a sudden it bit them in the ass, when the competition started dumping hi-res music, it started leaving apple in the rear bin knowing they put themselves in this position 🤣🤣🤣
