I wonder if this will fix my issue with Java based games of the 9400m.

Yes. The screen will flash with these black bars and then my computer will lock up. I went to the genius bar and they said that it is software related.

Hopefully that'll be addressed with the driver update which includes an OpenGL stack up which will lead to fixing some of these peculiarities.

I can't wait for this update. I play Sims 3 and it currently runs terribly. Back when i had my White 24" iMac, we were on 10.6.2-3 and it smoked my newer 27" iMac, so a graphics fix would be more than welcome!
