Apple Raises iPhone Trade-In Values For Limited Time — Here's the List

Try going vegetarian/vegan.... you don't do it for the cost savings 😳

I've eaten vegetarian/vegan/pescatarian at various times over the past 7 years, just went back to omnivore a year or so ago. Even now, my grocery bills are lower than they were.

My household is vegetarian and I have been for almost 16 years. We do eat eggs and dairy, and we have several chickens, so egg prices aren't a concern. Looking at buying a couple dairy cows soon, too.

Gardening, if you have the land are willing to start your own seeds, saves a lot too.

Looked up beef prices and it's about $6/lb here. My parents pasture-raise cattle and and they are selling beef directly for around $8/lb.

I don't know how grocery prices break down in the USA, but I would have to think if ground beef is actually $10/lb then any of tofu, beans, even fake meats must be cheaper

incidentally my household is vegetarian, I've been veg and/or vegan around 30 years

while I've never researched it extensively, looking around the grocery store and anecdotal conversations with others about grocery budgets have always led me to believe that not spending money on meat and dairy is easier on the wallet

For iPhone 15 Pro Max $650 is very low! You may able to sell better in the used phone market. iPhone 15 Pro Max 512 GB was sold at $2100 in my place. This is deep discount within 1 1/2 years!

What irks me about trade-in (which is why I never do it) is that they give you absolutely zero credit for extra storage. I film my podcast on my 15 Pro Max and so I went for 1TB storage. There is no bump in trade-in value for 1TB.

So basically no Apple. No.

I'm lucky enough to live in a big enough city that selling on CL or Marketplace usually takes no more than a few days if I have priced it right.

They only increased the trade-in value towards purchasing a new device. Values when trading in for a gift card have gone down (spot checking two iPhones: $15-20 decrease)
Darn! I have an old phone from a recently deceased relative. I was planning on trading it in towards the iPhone 17 whatever.

I might look to see how much I can sell it for on Swappa. I'd rather not deal with the scammers on eBay (I know they're not all scammers but still).

Edit: I just checked prices on Swappa... yeah I'll probably just go there.

They don't go for that much in the US, and a quick look at Swappa shows the 15 Pro Max are selling for about a hundred dollars more if in good to mint shape.

I still wouldn't trade in with Apple, but I also wouldn't be upgrading a 15, either.
I am not planning for upgrade until iPhone 19 or 20. But looking at the numbers, it is bit shocking, how the resale value is so low for iPhone now a days. I traded my iPhone 12 Pro Max for $800 bucks after using it for 3 1/2 years. Now looking at this, I am bit concerned.

If the $ is a factor, as it is for me, buying lightly preowned is the way to go.

Let someone else buy new and take the large value hit.

Let's be honest -- any iPhone from the last few years works fantastically for basically any user type.

Used mobile buying here is becoming a big scam in my state(Tamil Nadu, India) where cops and the thieves collude by selling iPhones bit cheaper (not very cheap) but after the sale cops land in your place ask for receipts and take away the mobile mentioning that it is a stolen one!

Wow .. that sounds awful, I'm sorry to hear this. 😞

Exactly the concern I have too.

Does anyone know whether, after the limited-time price adjustments go away, the gift card trade-in values will go back up?
