I was also referring to the egregious pricing, not solely the hideous design. $60 for a piece of rubber is ASININE.For accessibility devices, function must come before form. I would even say that this principle should be applied to all human interface devices.
As an example, let's compare the Apple Magic Mouse to the Logitech M500s I'm using right now:
- The Apple Magic Mouse looks like something out of a sci-fi movie. It's absolutely gorgeous, it's a piece of art.
It's perfect for social media photos with impossibly clean computer desks. But I wouldn't want to use it for more than a few minutes.- The Logitech M500s is not symmetrical. It's kind of weird-looking. I'm especially not a fan of the added silver stripe that accentuates the weird shape. But it's ergonomic. It follows the shape of my hand and fingers. In actual day-to-day use, it's the better choice.
