They look nice but are plagued by design problems like non standard parts in their desktops - if power supply breaks throw out the whole machine because there are no replacement parts (happened to friend). I work in a large university and have had to work on a few of the sony laptops and every one had broken hinges. Before using an IBM laptop myself I hated them (the look) but now I know they are what you want if you want a real none apple laptop. They are built like tanks.

Centrino sounds like an Apple word. Just sort of rollllllllls off the tip of the tongue. Apple Centrino PowerBooks. If it wasn't for the whole...not being what it really is I'd prob call it a Centrino too.

law guy said:Hmm. Asus is making some prettier notebooks these days. The v6v is an inch thin 15" that weight below 6 lbs. and appears to be made out of a dark anodized aluminum. Look at the second link below for a better view of that. Perhaps I'm not seeing it correctly? So there are some pc designers out there striving to avoid the brick system in addition to Sony.
