Just wear what you feel comfy in. Be yourself!

My seminar is on Sunday the 17th, Brent Cross Store London (anyone here too?)
I want this job so badly! I've got IT skills, I've been working in PC retails for over 8 years now and I've been using macs for at least 4.
But I'm so afraid.

Dress casual. Polo and khakis is fine, but if you want to go the extra mile, wear dress pants and button down shirt.
Don't flaunt your knowledge in computer skills. They want people who have people skills. They rather have someone who knows nothing about computers and can start a nice conversation with everyone.

I haven't had an e-mail or phone call since my second interview which was well over three weeks ago now.

Hey guys ive got a seminar interview on wednesday 3rd september at the Solihull Apple Store as a Mac Specialist, im crapping myself. Its at 6pm till 7 and i dont know what to do lol. Is it fun how should i dress, im in the uk. Please guys help

I have been applying for Apple for a long time and I finally got a email back, to go to a recruitment seminar. The seminar was healed in central london at Regent Street opposite the Apple store.
There were about 20 others at the seminar, most of them were waring casual clothes. However there is always the odd guy with the suit ha. Everyone had to introduce them selfs first and then there was a few videos shown. We were told to get into groups and do a presentation. (There will be different topics for different stores). I personally was asking alot of questions and the Apple management seemed pleased, but you never known what they are thinking. Near to the end one of the candidate said "I think you will get the job"

Well you will be with a group of say between 16 - 20, they will then tell ask you to 2 questions, 1. Why do you want to work at apple? and 2. What is one word to describe yourself.
You will be shown videos about apple, other apple stores, apple store employees saying what its like working there.
Then after the video they will go around the group asking you the 2 questions they asked earlier. Then after everyone talks the rest of the group will clap lol.
After that they tell you to find out 2 things about the person next to you
1. What are the most proudest achievements ?
2. What the person has been doing ? (i think i cant really rember the 2nd one)
Then you will have to find this out then, they give you about 10mins to find all that out, then they bring every 2 groups up to the front then you have to
talk about what you found. I think thats were i f****d up.

Hey Henry! I was at your seminar! You did awesome dude. Seriously, if anyone deserved to get a job there (besides me, lol) it was you. You might remember me- I was the guy on the far left at the back who you thought looked like a guy from a band you liked! Who was that btw?
I got all the way through to a one on one interview with the legend matt but unfortunately didn't get through. When your up and working there, if there's a specialist spot comin up, put in a good word for me, be good to work with you!

this thread is still alive? When i was going through the hiring process this thread was just created, and now that I left its still going...
obviously i didnt stay at the job long enough 🙄
to those who are wondering what you should do for the interview/group interview it really is about being yourself. the people that are there watching you are the ones that decide whether they want you as a coworker or not. so if you impress one or try to mingle with one during the group interview you might get one to vouch for you and you might just get a second interview.
if anyone was wondering what the overall atmosphere of the job is like. Its pretty relaxing for a retail job, except for the customers, but thats like any other retail job 😉

What kind of questions did you ask? When did you have the oppurtunity to do this, I'm not sure what questions to ask. I have my seminar in 2 weeks time so just preparing.
long, tedious, and boring... most of all at the end, you look back and think, "that didnt teach me anything." but really thats with any retail job
The keys to these interviews are being very inquisitive and being personable. you could know nothing about Macs or not even own one...but you have to have passion for being able to commit to selling and open to customers.
In the end you are selling a product, a feeling/emotion and a brand.
thats all they want you to do...they say they dont worry about numbers...but its really based on that; their solutions.
But it depends on your position your going after, about 99.5% go for sales and other go for tech/genius and the misc jobs they have.
You can essentially dress anyway you like, as theyre looking for you to be able to adapt and connect with people and the products; half of the managers at these places I interviewed and worked at didnt even own an Apple product outside of an ipod or the software apple supplies to them.
I just got fed up with the lack of commitment and personable approach they offered with the company & what they were telling me. (btw I didnt work in sales so it might have been because I wasnt contributing to their sales growth 100% directly)
Its a great place to work dont get me wrong, but when you have intolerable and inefficient people running the show it doesnt create a positive working environment ... thats the only thing really lacking in these places is the management skills, I like that it is truly laid back but its to the point of unprofessionalism; try calling them back a few days or a week or so after the interview, they seem as if they ddint keep any track or notes of what you said to them or what position you were looking at, they seem very unorganized and scattered and dont pay attention well at all to the people trying too hard for these jobs (In my personal experience....it really depends on who is really handling these tasks really)
but overall, if you go with a positive attitude and very outgoing personality and just be yourself it will work out for the best.
