I need a new computer and I'm leaning towards a refurbished rMBP 15". I've read a few things on how Apple replaces the outer shell, but I was wondering if this included the keyboard.

The keyboard, touchpad, battery and upper case are all one assembly, so if one of them needs replacing, all are replaced. Whether or not Apple do this on refurbs, probably depends on the condition the laptop is in when it's returned.

The replacement parts can be refurbs too.
