Apple has recently registered the domain name AppleCoronavirus.com, according to a WHOIS record discovered by MacRumors. The new record indicates that Apple took possession of the domain name on Friday.

The record's domain information lists Apple Inc. as the registrant organization. The registrar is CSC Corporate Domains, a firm that protects domain names for large corporations, and is used by Apple for its domain name registrations.

While the domain does not currently point to an active website, the registration of the domain occurred on the same day Apple and Google announced a joint effort of creating COVID-19 contact tracing technology to help governments and health agencies reduce the spread of the virus around the world.

The same company registered IBMCoronavirus.com, in fact earlier on April 2nd. Also DellCoronavirus.com and HPCovid19.com are registered too.

The services provided by these brand protection services are to register relevant names before somebody else does, so you can't draw any conclusions.

Apple continues to defy their own policy against unofficial corona virus apps or sources. Now they’re branding off of it.
I think it's more about making sure someone doesn't use Apple's name to make an unofficial site, or maybe they have something planned (with the authorization of the government). Other companies have done so, so I don't think there is a deeper meaning to it.

The popularity of the current coronavirus has prompted Apple to release their own, which is sure to be 'revolutionary'. Personally, I'll be looking forward for the Apple Coronavirus Pro Max.

its getting that serious huh?

Apple always wants to help as much as possible... Remember your true tactics of making products and services....

Leave this to the egg-heads.

While apple works on that, I will be working on my dating website for those infected, masksoff.com
