Why hasn’t anyone mention concern about the tracking technology? (For COVID-19, or anything else.) Hopefully Apple will use differential privacy effectively. Google hasn’t had any interest in implementing such privacy?

China: it’s not the Wuhan virus you Americans
Americans: it’s China coronavirus darn it!
Apple: okay okay, don’t argue over the name. Let’s make it Apple Coronavirus!

It's TOTALY Fake news. No such registrations have been made.

No Domain Registration have been made by Apple Inc.

Let hope Apple doesn't register CoronavirusProMax.com, we don't need it any larger or faster, a smaller CoronavirusSE.com might feel snappier.

Wow, great marketing? Seems strange.I guess we can look forward to AppleHerpes.com next?

It's interesting that they only purchased it for one year, expires on 4-10-2021....hopefully this is over by then.

I hope this is a troll....

Is there anything about this that does not disturb people?

If Apple can somehow test for the virus with your phone then expect Apple's stock (AAPL) to go to $1000 a share! I think Amazon is now doing medical research also! We cannot wait for the Biotech, we need Silicon Valley to help out also!

I fear for the worst, when the idiots here in England figure out that it's not 5G towers that are responsible for COVID-19, and not the Bill+Melissa Gates Foundation, but obviously Apple who is practically admitting responsibility (at least if your IQ is under 60, but we have plenty of those here in England).

Well, absolutely not. This is not about privacy. This is about warning you if you have been near anyone who has COVID-19. Your decision what you valid higher - your privacy or your life.

And differential privacy wouldn't work. It works well if you have things like "312,000 iPhone users visited Disneyland in Florida, but we don't know exactly which ones", or "207 users read your advert, so it must have been rather boring, but we don't know exactly which ones". For this application, you want to know _exactly_ whether there was an infected person near you.

I generally don't name call online but the idiots you are referring to are truly stupid. That said, if it is 5G that causes COVID-19 and the next iPhones will have 5G, Apple will need a website to facilitate the upcoming court settlement... /s

My point is, how many will they register as a defensive move! This is a temporary solution to a permanent problem. While reading something on NamePros, I came across similar news - Facebook registered some 500 domains related to Facebook and coronavirus, to avoid spreading of rumors and safeguarding against negative elements like scammers and cybersquatters who have come up.

My only point being, how many! I think a permanent solution is that the registrars themselves block the coronavirus related domain names. Sure, it has its downsides. But that's a tradeoff.
Thoughts?
