LOL you might want to look at that again. They're talking about GTA Vice City. From the article
"Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, quickly became the best-selling video game in history when it was launched last year, with 250,000 copies sold in the first two days." Vice city was released in 2002 - that article is from 2003.....
GTA gets law suits every release for something, but your claim was

It's currently 2015, and GTA is still going strong, so again, why did you feel the need to make stuff up to support your argument?

Haha, excellent comeback, especially for a person who has their foot in their mouth. I Never mentioned any specific version of GTA. I just said Grand Theft Auto. In terms of "Grand Theft Auto" what I said WAS true. But I can see that was way too far above your head to comprehend. But it's okay, keep hiding behind your computer calling people liars. Says a lot about you. :)

But it's a completely different discussion from how violence in games affect people.

Comparing total numbers is a little silly. The US population is way higher than those countries listed.
Look at the murders per capita, The US is not that high compared to most of the world, although it is higher than the countries listed.

And to some of the other posters, I am not sure how you can say your particular country is more "free" when you lose your right to bear arms and censorship in media is a regular occurrence.

Maybe I am just missing something.

Just wow, ok......

I think this policy stinks...

True, it may be used to protect certain audiences from seeing, but it's a gme...

it users don't wanna see it, then they shouldn't be interested,

If they are, and the screen shot violence is blurred, then when they play the game, your gonna see it in full glory anyway..

There is already (I hope) MA+ rating systems for games hopefully........ You would think people are smart enough to know this and to act accordingly..

Besides,, if you've seen street crime, then you know what its all about.

It's a good system Apple to try and make the safer, but if the after is your gonna play the game anyway, then its no protection. More so, you'd be "interested" to see whats being blurred.

It's getting a bit ridiculous. I want to see a statistic about all the lives that guns save, or all the lives that could have been saved, if someone had a gun, as in the many school shootings around the country lately, but I know I'm not going to find it, because, as we all know, guns are scary... This kind of thing boggles the mind.

Well here is your sats, you probably will not bother to read this as the truth hurts but your idea that guns would save people is totally misguided and even if for example a gun was used in the defence of a school and it saved lives in one incident the amount of lives lost due to accidents, suicides and the defender been shot with their own gun would easily out way any lives saved in the defensive roles that you mention. It does seem a bit OTT of Apple though its probably so they don't get sued when a 5 year old blows their own brains out with a parents gun for defence purposes having been on an iPad with an app with a gun image on it http://www.armedwithreason.com/debunking-the-guns-dont-kill-people-people-kill-people-myth/

Am I the only one who thinks of that 8-year-old kid who got suspended for biting his Pop-Tart into the shape of a gun after reading this?

Are you serious? I've never head about that. I have to Google that. Ridiculous.

EDIT: Googled it. There was more to it than just a pop tart gun.

What kind of parent would be upset for their kids not being able to see a stupid screenshot containing weapon of violence on the AppStore?

Solution: Have an App Store age filter that filters out age restricted apps, Thus no need to have devs blur out guns. Easier for both Apple and devs.

Android once again has done this right.
