Hi,

subject says it - older systems don't get the software. I am running Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit on my unsupported MBP 7.1 (mid 2010) already and I would appreciate to get access to the updated BootCamp 6 drivers though. Anyone can publish BootCamp 6 for download, please ?

Thank you in advance.

A good read about older hardware: http://betanews.com/2015/08/15/how-i-and-you-am-hurting-the-pc-industry/ . By chance I own the same MBP model, 2.66GHZ CPU and updated it in 2013 to 8 GB RAM and a 480GB SATA SSD.

BootCamp 6 download links, supportive tool links and good info in this thread.

I have 2014 MacBook Air, but I am not sure if those drivers are suitable for your machine.

I'm also on a now unsupported machine (Early 2011 MBP) and would really appreciate anyone uploading the installer.

In the past when Windows 8 came out I've been able to get most drivers working on an older 2009 iMac that was left unsupported, so I'm hoping this will be the case again.

I think the BootCamp 6 package size is 1.2GB - may contain all drivers ;) . I can extract single drivers.

So this is a package requiring download from Windows Boot Camp, not Mac OS X Boot Camp Assistant? I can easily download them if available, though.

You get it using OSX BootCamp assistant. You may need a formatted MBR FAT/FAT32 drive to store it.

Update: On my unsupported MBP with BootCamp 5 installed, the Windows program Apple Software Update did not find BootCamp 6. So nothing changed, the BootCamp 6 driver package would be highly appreciated :) .

What a drama. I am sure Apple has good reasons for not providing access to BootCamp 6 drivers for everyone ;) . At the end they only make the update painful. Apple will not hinder users from successfully upgrading their systems to W10.

There's nothing special in there if your computer is already running fine with the drivers in Boot camp 5.1. It's for people with some hardware features that are new.

Even without BC Windows includes drivers for nearly all your hardware. For me I only needed the driver for Apple Keyboard and Magic Mouse. And the start up disk panel. Bootcamp 6 has no benefit for me.

Directx12 is the benefit. As well as a hopefully working applehfs.sys driver.

DirectX 12 is a feature set. If the GPU doesn't support it then no newer driver is going to help. Check the DirectX 12 list of requirements for information which GPUs support it.

Thank you, you are right @ DX12:

GeForce GT 320M Review

GeForce GT 320M is an entry-class level GFX of the 300M Series released by NVIDIA in 2010. The biggest hindrance it has is the fact that it only supports DirectX up to 10.1 so DirectX 11 games aren't supported.
While very demanding games like Metro 2033 are most probably unplayable even at the lowest settings, demanding games like Crysis might run with very reduced detail + resolution.
GeForce GT 320M does support DirectX 10.1 but since it doesn't deliver that much performance, games that use DirectX 10.1 might be mostly unplayable or only playable at the lowest settings, due to the performance level they require.

I would try to upload to somewhere and share the link.

SharePoint is down, due to file size.

I will try Microsoft OneDrive.

Ok, I sent the OneDrive link. 30 GB free space for you :) . Once uploaded, I'll provide a public link for everyone.

Cheers! :D

(It seems to install the support drivers in a disk image in library/application support/bootcamp/Windowssupport.dmg on your osx partition rather than updating the bootcamp assistant itself.)

This is the OSX BootCamp 6 package ( 1.6GB size ). Shirasaki downloaded the Windows Installer and currently uploads it to my OneDrive. When finished, I'll post the link. Great, I want to thank all of you for this outstanding support !

Microsoft OneDrive upload speed is extremely slow now. May take longer to let it work.

In the meantime, if anyone can figure out which link Apple is using to download on Windows side, that would be most appreciated.

In the meantime, that BootCampESD.pkg file downloaded from Apple server is not able to work directly. May need something to be done before using it.
