Why don't they make a mode where the HomePod is the bass and the HomePod mini is the tweeter? Do people even know what basses and tweeters are anymore?
I was really looking forward to using the intercom feature and bought 4 of them , sadly it's not 2 way and pretty useless , wish I'd done more research tbh

All you have to do is say “Hey Siri, reply” and she is suppose to record your message to send back to the sender.
I have two groups of homepods, my room and the kitchen. I have had no issues with intercom, while my sister can’t seem to hear the ready sound and all I ever hear from her end is my name.

😂 I used intercom with a family member for awhile and in the beginning they had the hardest time not pausing after “hey Siri intercom” as you’re supposed to continue immediately into your message, or pausing long enough to hear the tone that lets them know to start their message. So I would always end up just getting the end of the message haha.
We eventually smoothed that out. But our usage of intercom still declined because it was too clunky for anything more than one maybe two messages (which was probably all it was intended for). For anything more, like a short conversation, it was just easier to grab my phone if nearby and text, or if not nearby then just get up and go to the person’s room.
I hope Apple can figure out two way live HomePod audio though. People in my household don’t always have their phone handy and I’m lazy so I would use it a lot.
