there’s no such thing as a “stable” beta. By definition, beta software is software that is not stable because it contains bugs and usability issues, some of which may be severe enough to cause permanent loss of date or render a device unusable.

Agreed. Beta 4, in terms of overall stability, is probably the worst of all the releases. It has less glitches (apart from the keyboard randomly disappearing in some apps) but all in all, beta 3 was probably the best so far.

Same.... I had no problems through 3, but after 4 I’m having phone call issues, and my camera has been wacky half the time, not letting me take photos...

Ah... it’s with AirPods in use? I’ve had that issue... usually at the absolute worst time (really need a photo for job)... thx for the heads up... if it happens again I’ll take them out. I had already concluded my phone issues were AirPod related as well...

I’m not sure this is the right place for this question, but here it goes anyway.
Does the latest iPadOS ‘properly’ support external displays? I mean without the black borders on the sides when it’s a 16:9 display. Do you think Apple will ever allow extending to an external display from an iPad?
I know people who love the iPad Pro but have a workflow where they keep multiple things open at once (multiple documents for research and the document they are making themselves). They don’t really need a laptop, a browser and word is about all they use, but external display support needs to be better for it to be their only device.

Not completely sure about that. I've seen lots of complaints about PB 4, and some of the issues I've noticed have been persistent throughout.

I've had some sort of bluetooth/phone app issues with PB4 that wasn't there with PB3. If I have my AirPods in and receive a phone call no one can hear me nor I them. I have to change it to phone speaker then back to AirPods as my source which is a huge hassle. Yes, I understand it's a beta, but I hope this gets corrected with this one.

1. Call cant me made through AirPods Pro.
2. iTunes artwork support goes haywire.
3. Keyboard disappears at key moments, such as entering unlock passcode or Apple ID password.
4. Occasional sudden reboot.
Still downloading iPadOS beta 5. If Apple somehow fixes some of those issues I’d be content. Otherwise hmm....

Just a FYI the Youtube app was recently updated to support 2160P playback v 5.33.4 updated 2 days ago. See this working on a 2019 iPad mini running iPadOS 14.0 beta.

I have mostly see issues with apps crashing, but a few bugs with the keyboard showing up on the screen.

my biggest gripe about these updates on MacRumors is they add all the information on iOS 14 when it would be better to just have the New information in the beta or the changes and not all the previous info.

I agree. They could include a link back to the article detailing everything about the new OS.
