You realize you're just screaming into the void. Apple. Does. Not. Care.
Of course I know. But telemetry doesn’t lie. Apple knows that Tahoe is not popular and that Glass UI is at best divisive. That’s why they put back in controls to tone it down and even turn it off.

This doesn’t happen for me and I use it exclusively at work with various web apps. Is this possibly related to some other power management going on?

I can't imagine why. My settings are all default as far as power management goes. The MBP doesn't even have to go into sleep mode for it to happen. I literally pop open a new tab, check my email, 5 minutes or so later, go back to the first tab and it shows a black screen on the tab. Refreshing does nothing. I have to close the tab, and re-open it, and log back in

Doesn't happen with Chrome or Firefox.

As a general rule, the immediately prior release is also the last good MacOS. And Snow Leopard.
And Tiger, Tiger was one of the best of OSX (I mean that seriously, probably my favorite release)
The “I will never upgrade my MacOS again; Apple quality is *****” meme is getting old.
Getting? The meme’s as old as MacOS, it’s not just old enough to vote, it’s old enough for its back and knees to creak when it stands up
