In addition to the numerous hardware and software updates already detailed today, Apple has released an additional pair of updates related to its iLife suite of applications:

iLife Support 9.0.1 weighs in at 50.56 MB and requires OS X 10.5.6.
This update improves overall stability and addresses a number of other minor issues. It is recommended for all users of Aperture, iLife '09, and iWork '09.
iPhoto 8.0.1 weighs in at 11.9 MB and also requires OS X 10.5.6.
This update improves overall stability and addresses minor issues in a number of areas, including internet connectivity, keyword import, and slideshow export.

I was waiting for this update, but it doesn't seem to have fixed much. :(

I guess I'm stuck waiting for the next update.

Why can't Apple release all of the updates at once so we don't have to keep restarting? :p

For geeks like us....I wish they would. :D

For normal users that only let Software Update do the checks....they'd only restart once per day anyway.

Well I suppose if there are issues related to particular updates, you can more easily identify which one is causing the problem.

What is the issue prior to the update?

I don't have iLife 09, iWork 09, or Aperture, yet iLife Support 9.0.1 shows up in my Software Update. (I have iLife and iWork 08.) I wonder why? Anyone else see this?

Yes, downloaded iLife Support 9.0.1 (50.56MB), but actual update done was 1.5 MB. (Software updated showed something like that).

OTOH, iPhoto 8.0.1 updater said it is not for me (although I have iPhoto 08). Software updater didn't show me this either.

Best.

Yeah, I got neither update when I ran Software Updater. All I got offered was the 2 Airport updates... ??

The reason it's not updating is because iLife '09 is actually version 8.0, I believe this skip happened when no iLife '07 came out. If you go to your applications folder and do a get info of your iLife I bet it's version 7. something, hope that helps!

Techinically, the whole iLife *package* ('08, '09, etc.) does not have a version. Each individual app has its own version. For example, iPhoto '08 is version 7, while iWeb '08 is version 2.

In other words, there is no iLife application per se.

Only reason I can think of is that Apple is using the same iLife "engine" for both iLife '08 and '09, which is why the update shows up for iLife '08 users. Which, if this is the case, does not match up with Apple's release notes since they don't mention iLife '08 at all.

Your right I meant to type iPhoto '09 not iLife, thanks for clarifying for them.

Faces export?

I wonder if this will fix it to where you can export faces data with your photos?
