Apple today released iMac Graphic FW Update 3.0, addressing an issue that could cause hanging and freezing on iMac models.
About iMac Graphic FW Update 3.0

This firmware update fixes a graphics issue that may cause an iMac to hang under certain conditions.
The download weighs in at 481 KB and requires OS X Lion. Apple does not specify on the download page which iMac models require the update, so iMac users may want to run Software Update to see if it is offered for their specific machines.

My late 2009 iMac didn't require the update. Manually downloading it and trying to install it confirmed that it isn't for this model.

Update not for the Late 2009 21.5 GeForce 9400

Downloaded the update from Apple's support page & tried to install on my Late 2009 21.5 inch iMac with GeForce 9400 graphics & it said it wasn't for my machine.

Will check mine now (Mid 2011 27") I am very careful now about what I install since the 10.7.3 debacle...

Not applicable...I'm relieved really. Not having any issues so no update is good.

They really NEED to upgrade the graphics in the early 09 mac mini. They pretty much ignore that machine to death.

Congratulations to Eric Slivka for his first typo free article.

Welcome to the world of Apple. Apple usually always ignores all machines that are not the current models. If they release updates for older hardware, then it's usually an accident and not intentional.

Seems to be a re-release of the same update issued August last year:

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1218175/

The ROM file included in both is the same, but the distribution was previously aimed at iMacs with ROM version 113-C2950K-193, but now is aimed at ROM version 113-C2950K-178. Other requirements remain the same.

Both updates seem to be for a Mid 2011 21.5" or Late 2011 21.5" iMac with Radeon 6750M running at least 10.7.0

After the update, ROM version should be "113-C2950K-212"

No... Apple has actually been known to keep pushing updates for old models for quite a few years. Many older macs can use Lion Internet Recovery for example, which required a firmware update.
