Apple Releases Second Beta of iOS 11.2.5 for Public Beta Testers

Apple today released the second public beta of iOS 11.2.5 to its public beta testing group, one week after seeding the first public beta and one week after releasing iOS 11.2.1, an update that addressed a HomeKit vulnerability. Today's beta is identical to the beta that was provided to developers yesterday.

Beta testers who are members of Apple's beta testing program will receive the iOS 11.2.5 beta update over-the-air after installing the proper certificate on an iOS device.

Those who want to join the beta testing program can sign up on Apple's beta testing website, which gives users access to iOS, macOS, and tvOS betas. iOS betas are not always stable and should not be installed on a primary device.

No new features were discovered in the first two developer betas of iOS 11.2.5, so it's not entirely clear what new features this beta introduces.

It's possible it focuses primarily on security improvements and bug fixes, and if that's the case, we may not know the extent of what's in the update until it sees a public release complete with detailed release notes.

Nope, there isn't. Usually it's the same day, or the next day after developer release.

got latest stable version of iOS 11 on my 6S and I can't back up your findings (but I got my battery replaced through the Replacement Program last year, so maybe thats the reason everything working so smooth )

I did. My phone would not load anything over cellular. Watching Safari load web pages took my phone to a crawl.. it was like watching a glacier melt.

Fixed a bug where I was unable to invite users that were not on beta to the Home app. Hopefully it also fixed the location based automations!

I’m running this beta on an iPhone X and I’m not experiencing a clicking haptic bug when I dismiss control center. However, I do not remember experiencing this bug on the previous beta, or the latest official release.

There are some 150 million 6S/6S Plus users, with 75-100 million of them running iOS 11.

Seems to be just fine for them, but that doesn’t mean you should upgrade.

Sure.

Invoked then dismissed control center about 10 times. Get a soft haptic when I dismiss (by swiping up from home). Never an audible click. The soft haptic seems like normal behavior, since I have system haptics on in settings.

However, then I went into settings and turned system haptics OFF. And I still get a soft haptic when I dismiss control center. That doesn't seem intentional. On the other hand, if it's a bug, it's the least annoying bug ever, in my opinion.

Mine has never made an audible sound. The haptic impulse is by design, but it's not making a sound. Tried with volume turned to maximum. All system sounds (keyboard clicks, lock screen) turned on.

Relax. I can confirm the abnormal (audible) haptic feedback is now fixed when swiping the home bar to exit from the Control Center (with the mute switch disabled).
