After installing the new iOS version 11.3, my iPhone 6 Plus is working again. It’s like having the original back. Much faster by a factor of 3-4 times. That’s a huge WOW for me, but also a huge loss of trust in Apple. They allowed the older iPhones to become borderline unusable, and did nothing about it until a whistleblower wrote an article about it. Shame on them, and on Tim Cook, for allowing the iPhone to become so degraded over time.

They did it so your device wouldn’t shut down randomly. The only mistake was not being transparent about it. That’s okay though because now we all get to know more about our batteries than we ever did. Everybody wins.

So you're saying my Mac is lying to me?

Beta 6 has been running like a champ on my X. Good release in my case. Having said that I don't use the weather widget so I cannot speak for that issue.

Unless it's an OTA gold master or another beta I don't even bother to remove the profile just to download a release when I'm going to have to redownload a profile in a week to continue beta testing. Not worth it. As for beta 6 messages in the cloud is still there so it's not the exact same. Who knows if anything else is different.

Release 11.3 has actually been really, really good for me. I know the build numbers are nearly the same, but the software has been night an day for me.

(Regarding USB Audio failing or working on 11.3)

Thanks very much for each of the responses.

Overview of responses so far:

There are now about 3 or 4 people for whom USB audio appears to be working consistently, and one person reporting consistent failure of USB audio on multiple devices (within the same car and tried with multiple cables), with each of those devices on 11.3, and with that same car WORKING on devices with 11.2.6
Success for me. I updated an iPhone 7/256, and it connects to my car using a Griffin iTrip AUX (lightning connection).

And if you have more than one iOS device that needs to be updated, you have to repeat the process on each device individually, re-downloading the exact same data x many times, for no apparent reason.

Not sure if it’s already been mentioned but at some point since iOS 11.3 was released, Messages has been showing up in iCloud so it seems the feature is very close to rolling out.

I have a section of the Storage graph (on iCloud.com) showing in green for ‘Messages’ (1.51 GB).

3D Touch broken briefly right after unlocking the phone? Shows the app delete x's when icon is held instead of the app's 3D touch menu.. hmmmm.....

Well that would be because it’s not the same data. Each device has its own version of iOS. Battery features etc aren’t on new phones iPad have different code (two of the exact same device yes you are correct). You have to be on WiFi anyway so surely it’s unlimited data as well.

I see the same; I don't recall if that was there before 11.3?

11.3 has dramatically sped up the graphics on the iPad Air. UI doesn't stutter anymore which it did on 11.2.6. I’m guessing Metal optimisation is to thank.

I am using iTunes 12.6.6.

I tried to update my 10.5" iPad Pro from iOS 11.2.6 to the latest version of iOS today. "Software Update" shows a red-circled "1" indicating that an update is available, but when I tap on "Software Update" a message appears saying "Checking for Update ..." and then another message appears saying "iOS 11.2.6 - Your software is up to date."

I detached my iPad from my computer and rebooted it but the same thing happens.

I signed out of my Apple ID but the same things happens.

UPDATE:
I managed to update my iPad. I closed iTunes, rebooted my iPad, before I unlocked my iPad I closed iTunes, which had opened again, unlocked my iPad, and went to Software Update. This time after iOS checked for an update it reported that there was one and allowed me to download it and then install it. I then opened iTunes, which recognizes that my iPad is now running iOS 11.3.1, and synced as normal. So far so good.
