Brave folks to download on Day 1 - because even if it only has 10% of bugs iOS 11 had, it will be a painful experience.

Same. That'll probably be the only major thing to come today on the app front. All the rest of the app updates to come today will probably just be little bug fixes to ensure full iOS 12 support. Last I saw, looks like Google Maps and Waze are still in the beta testing phase, so I'd say at most another week or 2 or 3. At least, that's the way it looks for Waze. The screenshots I've seen of Google Maps on CarPlay looks very polished, so that could possibly be coming to us sooner than Waze...
