This should still beat my brief experience with a Pixel 3a, when those were new.

Out of the box, it had an old Android security patch on it, and wouldn't update. It wouldn't download Instagram from the Play Store. I was told a factory reset could resolve these, but ended up returning it after a week. That phone is so far the benchmark of sloppiness against which I will measure future devices.

I always install updates right away, mainly because they always include security updates. I've been lucky not to run into any of the problems others have.

Possibly. It’s also possible that 13.4.1 wasn’t ready by the time they had these phones packaged up.

Mass production began more than a month ago. Pretty sure 13.4.1 wasn't ready back then.

This is odd. Usually newly released Apple devices ship with the latest update already installed. I'm guessing this day one patch is due to the delayed iPhone SE release?

Hasn‘t this happened before where they’ve released a device to market and pushed an update almost straight after release? Perhaps I imagined that!

I pre ordered mine several days ago this week. Looking to get back into Apple Eco. I have tried several times before with their older line up of iphones, but couldn't stand the poor battery life and slow charging. Maybe this time something will change? To note the only thing I have on me at this moment is my cellular ipad which I take with me on family visits outside the city.

What a weird rant on a post for a patch specifically meant to fix functionality problems, and not for new “bells and whistles”.
It's amazing how small some people can be, more so in the Apple World. A guy/gal expresses their personal position on functional precautions to a patch that might not have any positive effect on his use of his personal device, and the z-bot Army pounces. It turns into an Antivaxer thread?
How about we allow people to make their own choices and not attempt to crowd shame them into a zombie like compliance with a strong left sentiment?
Just a thought, but a thought that comes from an individual rights perspective, and not one from the zombie Lemmings "walk this way - or else" mentality.
Vax, don't vax. Smoke, don't smoke. Homeschool, don't homeschool. In America we still have the rights of choice, speech, association, etc., or do we?

It's all in the way it's phrased and maybe the OP should have stopped before the strawman in bold. What issues? Issue for how many? 10,20,100,100,000,000? I personally haven't experienced any issues that would cause me to not install any updates, especially those for critical security patches. Has the op experienced any issues personally on a consistent basis?

The post is very disingenuos with terms like "crowd shaming", "zombie lemmings", "strong left sentiment", etc.

Hopefully Apple will shortly release ios 13.4.5 across the board, some critical fixes are included.

I am NOT doing any updates for any of my Apple Devices until this Pandemic subsides. Way too many updates in the past have created issues and now would be the worst time for problems. My MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, iPhone etc work fine as is so no need for new bells and whistles at the moment.

I personally have not hand any upgrade issues outside of the iPhones, and one of those has not reared its head since 2017. My 2020 iPad Pro 12.9 works flawlessly, and my 2018 Mac Mini has not so much as hiccuped. Likewise I don’t have auto updates turned on, somewhat because I like to read the details of the changes prior to initiating the update/grade. Also because there have been so many, some days apart, and I don’t want my devices down without some knowledge of the change.
As to my disingenuous nature and post content, provide me less snowflake offensive but accurate terms to describe the attacks and piling on to people who have seemingly no other life’s mission than to berate others for having a disparate opinion.
When one person descents and a flock of seagulls jumps on, bandwagon and crowd shaming sure seem accurate to me. No better description of a leftist sentiment is that of demanding no one descent from the trope.

Apple today released the iOS 13.4.1 update for iPhone SE owners, suggesting iPhone SE models arriving to customers tomorrow will have iOS 13.4 installed and will need a day-one software update.

iPhone SE owners can install the new update over-the-air tomorrow through the Settings app. To access the updates, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

iOS 13.4.1 was released for other iPhones on April 7 to address an issue that prevented devices running iOS 13.4 from participating in FaceTime calls with devices running iOS 9.3.6 and earlier or OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 and earlier. Release notes for the update are below:The iPhone SE was announced last week, with pre-orders taking place on April 17. The first deliveries of the new device will begin tomorrow.
