It would be nice if the music didn't stop momentarily. After all, Apple did begin all of this with a music player. You'd think that it would work properly.

Guys I'm currently on the ios public Beta. If I install this will I be able to remain on the Beta programme? Or will I lose the opportunity to upgrade to the next beta release?

You will remain on the public beta until you remove the beta profile from your device. Though if you had already downloaded the RC version, it should be identical to this version, so you shouldn’t need to do anything extra today.

Thanks mate. The only reason I want to upgrade to this as I currently have an odd problem on the latest beta - when they keyboard comes up for email, whatsapp or messages, I have to scroll down a little to see the text as I type. I'm hoping this version foxes that!

The headphone nanny thing can be disabled now on my Bose headphones. Thank god.

Sadly the option is not available when using my airpods pro. They hardcoded that the nanny feature is obligatory. Bah. Is there a shortcut to clear headphone data every hour?

I'm still having intermittent WiFi connection problems on my iPhone 12 mini - and it has nothing to do with the router itself!

I’m trying to understand how out of all these tech related sites and “YouTubers,” I can’t find one talking about the amount of frame rate “drops” and “hang-ups” in system animations. It’s been an issue all throughout this beta and now to the public. I’ve restored and it’s still there.

Raised blacks still there... iPhone 12 Pro Max 👏 👏
I’m happy to say that on my 12 pro Max the issue is more controlled- but still not gone.
I can only replicate it when going from the highest brightness to below 80%. Pull up an all black image in photos and for a few seconds it will have faded greenish blacks and go to pitch black as it should be. Adjusting brightness within the 80% range doesn’t make the issue start up again like it did prior to the update. Almost there!

I’ve used this beta throughout and today was the first day I noticed this. And it’s already stopped.

That’s not a defence of Apple, because I have no idea why a bug like that should appear last minute and then immediately disappear.

Just an FYI. I have a Bluetooth audio adapter in my car that had this problem. After the update there was no option under the information for this device to update its type. So I removed the device and then added it back and after that the type selection became available.

There are several bug fixes for issues that include image artifacts appearing in HDR photos taken with iPhone 12 Pro, problems with the Fitness widget not updating correctly, and a bug that could cause typing to be delayed and word suggestions not to appear when using the keyboard.
OMG! Been waiting forever for this!

How do you turn it off?

I suggest by going to bluetooth settings, selecting your headphones and in the details changing the device type to something other than "headphones". Then the iPhone won't measure the loudness anymore. I didn't test it yet though ;)

Hi, Anybody know what wallpaper they're using in the last image? The one with the sky and the dark silhouette - can't find it anywhere.

Thanks.

The U1 stuff is actually quite cool. I feel like I can just "pick up and put down" whatever is on my phone as I move from my office to the kitchen to the workout room etc. Works really well. Hoping there's a fix in here (but I doubt it) that makes the device that shows up in CarPlay from your home be the first item on your favourites as opposed to the first ADDED item. I want my gates to show up in the CarPlay UI, not the Garage. And to fix that right now I'd have to delete a ton of stuff and re-add it and re-do all my automations.

From what I hear this update still does not fix the iOS 14 wifi issues unfortunately. It should be a priority or apple not at the bottom of the list.

Yes this update does not fix any of the major iOS 14 wifi issues. The wifi issues span across all generations of devices from what I can see. I have the issues you are having on my iPhone 7 Plus and iPad Air 2. Flip flops between wifi and lte, and wifi lte. Sometimes things just don't load (spinning wheels) yet my internet connection and my high end networking equipment work fine on all other devices.

Did downtime screw up for anyone else the first morning after updating?

The app limits kicked in a night as usual, but when I woke up everything was still darked out with the hourglass icon, I even turned off the downtime feature completely and they still didn’t go normal again.

Came good after I rebooted my phone, but I really hope this won’t be a daily occurrence
