The Google Pixel 3, released in 2018 has become practically obsolete after just three years in existence, and the manufacturer is fine with that.

The Pixel 3 phone is no longer receiving operating system or security updates, something a VICE opinion piece takes umbrage with. Writer Aaron Gordon says ceasing the updates is forcing him to “dump a perfectly good phone” that fits his needs without splashing out on a Pixel 6.

In response, a Google spokesperson told him he was still getting a great experience by his phone being supported for three years.

The spokesperson writes: “We find that three years of security and OS updates still provides users with a great experience for their device.”

chalk n cheese.

Apple today released iOS 15.3 and iPadOS 15.3, the third major updates to the iOS and iPadOS 15 operating systems that were released in September 2021. iOS and iPadOS 15.3 come almost two weeks after the release of iOS and iPadOS 15.2.1, minor bug fix updates.

The iOS 15.3 and iPadOS 15.3 updates can be downloaded for free and the software is available on all eligible devices over-the-air in the Settings app. To access the new software, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

According to Apple's release notes, iOS 15.3 includes "bug fixes and security updates for your iPhone," with Apple recommending the software for all users.

Apple will have a full list of security updates on its website, but today's iOS and iPadOS 15.3 updates specifically address a recently publicized Safari exploit.

In iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, there is an issue with the WebKit implementation of the IndexedDB JavaScript API. Websites that use IndexedDB can access the names of IndexedDB databases generated by other websites during the same browsing session, which essentially allows a malicious website to spy on other websites that a Safari user visits.

iOS 15.3, iPadOS 15.3, and macOS Monterey 12.2 fix this Safari bug, which also impacted Chrome and other browsers on iOS devices. With the fix, the vulnerability can no longer be used to glean recent browsing history and identity details from Safari users.

This update still has not fixed the ongoing messages loss of notification sound and banners.

They find three years is enough but then for the new Pixel 6/Pro they have increased it to 3 years OS and a further 2 years security according to their own Support Document which I find incredibly amusing! Do they even talk to each other at Google?

My email has quit working with this IOS 15.3 update on all my IOS devices. Anybody else have similar issue?

FindMy doesn't seem to be working properly in 15.3. I had my AirPodsPro in my ear and I got a Siri announcement saying my AirPodsPro is missing and had been left behind.

The stuttering when scrolling in the App Store seems to be fixed on 15.3. I just verified with my 13 Pro Max. And I think the 120 Hz seems to appear to be smoother in scrolling.

anyone else having issues? just updated my iphone 12 mini - and my touchscreen is completely unresponsive.

update - did a hard reset, seems to have done the trick

it happened only in the App Store app ? I'm on ios 14.8.1 and on Instagram for example, sometimes the scroll is going stuttered if i let the scroll going down by itself and not stop it with the finger again. I have to close the app and open it again and the stutter is gone, for a while. I don't close the apps, i let them in the background like...and i don't know, i think it's something that has to do with CPU/RAM managing.

There was very bad stuttering in the App Store when you expanded the full description for an app and tried to scroll through the description. With 15.3, the scrolling is very smooth.

EDIT: The stuttering in the App Store is still there. Initially, after the update to 15.3, there was no stutter, a day later and the stutter is back.

I have an iphone 12 mini, and i'm very close to update to 15.3, but i don't know, i'm very sceptical about it...don't want the battery drain going bad like

I am finding no regression in battery life so far using 15.3. I am using a 13 Pro Max. I just had the case of 6:12 30% battery used. In 15.2.1, I had 6:17 48% battery used.

Here is a feature new to IOS 15.3: The Visual Voice Mail feature doesn't work anymore (on the T-Mobile network).

GIFs no longer available in iMessage after 15.3 update. Also other emoji apps, music, YouTube and other apps and stickers not working. Anyone else have this problem? I've tried restarting app and phone and readding the iMessage #images app but it's still not loading any gifs. Any other ideas? Is there a way to revert to the previous update?

Unfortunately, after update to IOS15.3 my Airplay keeps falling out and the connection to my Apple TV often do not work.

I have to turn off Apple TV first. Then turn of my iPhone.

Waite 1 minute.

Then turn on my Apple TV and then turn on my iPhone then it works until a massage or a phone call gets in the way.

After this then the same procedure once again.
