Be careful updating to 12.6.9, it bricked my 2019 16" MBP. Was stuck on black screen apple logo update progress bar for like 3 hours, had to restore from TM backup.
Mine is in the middle of the progress bar on the Apple black screen since 90 minutes. I know it can be very long (last one took one hour) and I’ll try resist pushing the power button till a few more hours…

They could have released security updates for some of the much older Macs as well. There are still tons of people who are still running their Intel systems and don't have much need to upgrade to the M1 or newer.

We recently had to retire our two 2013 21" imacs, they are fast and never lagged, but stuck on 10.15.7 and stuff like MS office etc stopped updating on top of no more security updates.

Literally structured obsolescence in action.

Personally I do not mind replacing after 9+ years.

What I mind is not producing a larger screen iMac with a M2 chip. I have the money on hand! I want iMac 30" 5.5K or 32" 6K.

Speaking of iOS, I wonder will we see an iOS 16.7 release for those running the iPhond 8 or iPhone X.
If I was using a 2017 iPhone I'd prefer to be on an older iOS but receive Security Updates until year 8.

Would be nice if the battery was as easy as changing AA of your LG remote control.

Just a follow up, after 6 hours, no progress, I need to reinstall everything. This update sucks. Never had such probems before.
