Apple today released iOS 18.1.1 and iPadOS 18.1.1, minor updates to the iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 operating systems that debuted earlier in September. iOS 18.1.1 and iPadOS 18.1.1 come three weeks after the launch of iOS 18.1.

The new software can be downloaded on eligible iPhones and iPads over-the-air by going to Settings > General > Software Update. Apple has also released iOS 17.7.2 for devices that are still running iOS 17.

According to Apple's release notes, the iOS 18.1.1 update provides important security fixes. It is recommended for all users.

For more on the features available in iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, we have a dedicated roundup.

I hope this fixes the delayed notification bug. It's really annoying that notifications like authenticator take 5-7 seconds longer to show up.

Likewise here. Going to update my phone later this afternoon and hope it fixes the delayed notification

The article says the release notes say this update has security fixes, not bug fixes generally. Are the bugs noted above security related? If not, you probably shouldn’t get your hopes up.

Glad to know it's not just me. I asked some other people I know about it and they looked at me like I had two heads.

I can confirm no bugs were fixed during the ios 18.1.1 update. It might take a day or two to notice though. I also think it was just a update to get pushed out before Thanksgiving. BUT they really didnt fix any of the so called bugs.

What I’m hoping is that apple simply short changed the release notes because the amount of bugs that need fixing would list longer than the iOS 18.0 features added. Which would be embarrassing for them.

They never tell u the bugs they fix. Sometimes they do but hardly ever

Weirdest thing: my iPad was at 91% charge when I started this update. After it finished and restarted, it said my battery was at 94%. What sort of black magic is this‽

Since upgrading from iPhone 14 Pro Max to an iPhone 16 Pro Max I’ve had so many connection-related bugs with Wi-Fi 7 — I hope this fixes things

I'm still on iOS 17. Previously iOS 18 was offered as opt-in option. Now iOS 18.1.1 is placed on the foreground and 17.7.2 update is hidden somewhere below. You need to scroll down, to know iOS 17 update is available at all.

I fixed it by turning on "Summarize Previews".
