No, the options were just added to the Mail app's three-dot menu. They were already available through Settings, so the change is much more minor than that even.

It’s seems as though it affects some brands of radios/cars and not others. And oddly… when I go to CarPlay settings it no longer lists my model radio by its model number… it sees it as “AV Receiver”

FWIW I use the Carlinkit 5 as an adapter to give my (old-school, wired Carplay) setup wireless Carplay, and I've seen no problems.
Generically IMHO Carlinkit 5 is absolutely worth the cost - reliable wireless Carplay, not too expensive, set up once and then it just keeps working.

I had that one for my 21 Hyundai Tucson and it was amazing. I had a wireless charging pad so I charged my iPhone when driving. My 22 Tucson, has wireless CarPlay so I don’t use the adapter anymore.
