Apple today released iOS 26.6.2 with a fix for "an issue that prevents downloading a software update over a cellular connection."

The minor software update is rolling out now for the iPhone 11 series and newer. To update your iPhone, open the Settings app and tap on General → Software Update. It might take a few minutes for the update to be visible to everyone.

iOS 26.6.2 arrives approximately three weeks after iOS 26.6.1, which delivered security fixes.

Apple is expected to release iOS 27 later this month, with the company likely to announce a release date during its event this Wednesday.

iPadOS 26.6.2 is also out with the same fix.

This regression has been recurring in several beta cycles maybe in the past two years or so… they now decided to fix it. Doesn’t mean won’t be back as a regression soon again…

iOS 18.6.2 was released on 20 August 2025 while iOS 26.6.2 was released on 8 September 2026.

I'm expecting iOS 26.7 to be released the same day the newest iPhone models are available.

I may finally jump to iOS 27.0 once it is no longer beta after staying on iOS 18.7 for almost a year.

I wonder if there are any other bug fixes included. My iPads are wifi only but I updated just in case.
