I've only had chance for a quick scan through this thread, but no-one seems to have mentioned another bug fix this update seems to have brought: the trivial but fantastically annoying bug where the lock screen would display a random album cover when music is playing, rather than the artwork for the album actually playing seems to be fixed.

This makes me happy.

Cheers

Jim

Why would you be so excited when it adds no material value to the phone? All it does is prevent a certain jailbreak. Not worth updating.

No, they are fixing bugs and security holes. It just happens to prevent a jailbreak. I'm always excited when bugs that can OWN my phone are fixed. Who wouldn't be, really?

nah thx i rather keep my android inspired jailbreak add-ons ;)

Why, most of them are buggy as hell and make the phone very unstable. I tried jailbreaking again two months back and it was horrible, unless I didn't install any jailbreak add-ones, but them what's the point!

Because it voids the warranty. They dont want people messing around with jailbreaking and screwing up their phones then walking into an Apple store for a replacement.

This is completely incorrect, jailbreaking does NOT void your warranty. If you are worried you can just restore your iPhone before you take it in, but it isn't necessary.

Hiding the fact that a device was JB doesn't change anything. While I agree that strictly speaking, Apple would have a hard time denying warranty service if you challenged them in court, it could still lead to difficulties in receiving service.
(they would have to prove that the issue was a direct result of the modification)

Then why are you still here? Are you trying to convince us (who don't care) or yourself?

Because I've been here twice as long as you have and I most likely own a much greater number of Apple products than you.

Or do you think this is a love-fest society for people who "see no evil, hear no evil," and who say "amen" to everything Apple dishes out?

You're right that it doesn't change anything, because Apple will service jailbroken phones. I asked a genius about it when my spacebar mysteriously fell off, and he said they fix jailbroken phones (even if they are unrestored), but they restore them first.

Faster

Ever since I've updated to 4.3.4, my iPhone 4 feels snappier and faster than it was. Barely any lag
