You must have had a very poor experience with iOS 7.0.x. I did not, with either my iPhone 5 or 5S. I think Safari crashed twice on the 5S, but that's about it. The only performance/stability differences I noticed were negative with regards to the battery, and the same for other standard functions. The security, I wish I could have for sure but again, not at the tradeoff of needing more juice throughout the day.

There's obviously something that us with battery issues are doing differently than you, and it was exposed in iOS7.1. Know how I know? Apple sent me one with 7.0.6 and I don't have the same problems anymore with the same exact configuration after a clean install on 7.0.6 vs a clean install on 7.1.0.

Oh, and thanks for quoting my same post twice in 20 minutes :)

I was able to determine That the battery problem was mainly caused by some apps going out of control in their background processes and/or accessing Location Services forever (Yahoo Weather, Dropbox; newer updates may have fixed the issue ???). I was able to reach 2:00pm with 80% battery while actually using it.

I turned off background app update on those and had vastly improved battery in 7.1. I could wait the 0.5sec it took to update when open.

Another phone here that upgraded itself to recovery mode (ie a temporary overnight brick until I could attach a lead to iTunes this morning). iPhone 4S 32Gb. No probs with iPad (4).

Did they fix the effed up music player in iOS 7? Playlists are not even the correct order like in itunes and who wants albums in a massive list. Gotta scroll through 15 albums to get to the first one...

Just another bit of advanced technology in a phone that requires updates too,,

That's all it is.

When do we get a forum commenter upgrade to remove the nonsense?

I am sorry that the truth hurts fanboys and zealots but Apple was totally in incompetent and wrote extreme shoddy code and was completely ignorant of a massive hole that gave the NSA total access to all data on the Iphone or they did it intentionally.....

maybe I just missed the difference in the last update, but if you slide down where it says 'scheduled', there's a search bar and alarm clock.
I believe that's been there since the beginning of iOS 7.

Aside from 'cellular' changing its name to 'mobile' in the settings, I can see zero difference between 7.1 and 7.1.1
Disappointing.

not a good update

I wanted to update my cell phone with 7.1.1 but as it was updating, my cell phone completely shut off. I couldnt get it to turn back on. I visited my cell phone carrier and they couldnt turn on my phone. tonight, I am visiting apple store to see if they can turn it back on.
I was updating at my job so I dont know if that was a factor.

Several times already, my apps are opening with a delay after the tap that I have never had with my 5s. Also, I played Lumosity today and had delayed input during a game.

I have never noticed this before the .1.1 update

I just had to have my usual fight with the fingerprint sensor to get my phone unlocked*. Hopefully that's the last time I'll have to deal with it but I'm not optimistic.

*Yes I know I can just use my passcode but it's the PRINCIPLE! Plus I'm insane.

Did you notice any change yet with 7.1.1?! Even with 7.1 I still had issues with my fingerprint sensor. Funny thing is that it was recognise my fingers for 23 hours a day and then the remaining hour, usually when I'm really busy at work and the phone in set on my desk in a way to utilise the sensor, it just completely forgets who I am!
