Apple Releases iOS 8.4 With Apple Music, Beats 1, and Revamped Music App

What are these guys at Apple smoking? It just be good stuff because apparently nobody checked the iPad app. Apart from that I like the new app design. My prayers have been answered and we can finally add a playing song to a playlist without needing to go to the playlist tab. Happy Days

updating boy is it slow

On my iPhone 5s the download only took about 6 or 7 minutes and I didn't start the download until just after 11:00AM ET. It is installing it now. My iPad Air 2 (which said it was a 1.5GB download) took about 9 minutes and just started the install as well.

If you happen to be on iOS 8.4 public beta, remove beta profile, reboot and try again. This has worked for me.

I really hope 8.4 fixes the resprings related to downloading apps.

Just downloaded. You have to scroll back to the top of your list in my music to toggle between artist, albums, etc? Seriously???

Also gone is that cool way to look at your albums in landscape mode.

For your own music collection this appears to be a worse player.

Why are people expecting a new iOS 9 beta for this? Hasn't Apple Music been "supported" since beta 1, but just not working? Surely it just needs Apple to flip a switch on their side of things to activate the service rather than need another beta?

That said, I'm not seeing anything live on beta 2 yet, apart from the radio which has always been there but not working (apart from BBC World Service)...

You aren't alone. It won't do it for me either. I had to restart both my iPhone and iPad to even allow me to see the update. It kept saying "try again" and now it is stuck on "update requested"
