Ha, my iPad Air needs 6.9 GB of free space. My iPad is 16GB. This should be interesting clearing up space....

It's a core os update, the system needs room to work to shuffle files while it upgrades the old versions. Plus it is also a compressed package file, so the download size isn't the actual working size.

Mine says 'Update Requested...' don't know if that means it's downloading - or if it's waiting to not overcrowd the servers.

The joke is on the people with an 8 GB 5c. Delete all your apps and photos so you can install the update.

The update screen shows "This update is the biggest release since the launch of the App store". At the sizes of the downloads for iPhone and iPad, they REALLY MEAN BIGGEST!
