Still trying to figure out how to load this iOS 10.3.4 into my iPad mini 4.
Adobe Acrobat with iOS 12 is crappy as hell to learn all over again!

You can’t

And people need to read properly.. it says 10.3.4 is only on the A6 devices that can’t get iOS 11/12 ( obviously because they are 32bit devices) so if you tried to search for updates you will get iOS 12.4 instead because you have the Mini 4

I would expect a lot of people sitting on those older iOS versions did so because their devices are jailbroken. I wonder if, in addition to the GPS fix, the ability to jailbreak was also "fixed"?

Actually couldn’t you download the ipsw file and upgrade it manually. It’s an active signed firmware by Apple so technically it should work in theory so you don’t have to upgrade iOS 12?!

But if it isn’t only for the devices affected for the update I don’t think so

**** me. The rollover broke the GPS on my 4 and 4S as expected, but my 5 with iOS 6 has been working fine. Kind of odd that these ones were delayed, but I guess I don't get to use GPS anymore staring in November...
iOS 6 may still have GPS issues, depending on how it handles the rollover. Not all impacted GPS receivers will encounter problems at the same time.

Just curious, how many 7 yo Android devices will be getting a GPS time rollover update?

How many Android devices has GPS issue? I know none of my Android phone has? Buy the way, Apple obligate to fix this, because without this, customer does not have functional phone. So now, it is Apple that doing the honorable thing for giving customers a functional devices?

If you follow the link, you will see the 4S can be upgraded to fix that.

Wow, support for an iPad 2, after 8 years. That’s amazzzzzzing. Seriously.
It is good, but we only feel that it’s “amazing” because we are trained by the Android OEMs to not expect updates after a year or two. So we lowered our own standard. Glad that Apple do this update. We should really demand similar software support from other companies as well, especially those who charges premium prices like Samsung and Google.

Ugh, I have an iPad Air (original) that I've kept on 10.x to run some older software. Now they've released an updated 10.x, but it sounds like I won't be able to get it because the iPad Air is capable of running 12.x.

Get the iOS file online and do a fresh install should work.

I never said I am going to load it into the device using conventional methods.
Did read the article completely though.

Wrong

Even if the Air had iOS 9, or 8, or 7.0.3 and you do a software update via settings it will request you to download iOS 12
Not if you update it using the ipsw file.

Bingo!😉

Edit: Just saw this solution was already recommended-whoops

Older Android phones will have the same problem, because it‘s a design issue of older GPS chips that only have a 10 bit week number mixed with a software issue that will reset the date to 1980, if the WN is falling to zero.
I know lots of people who use Android phones that old. They don’t care about malware, privacy or features, but they care about a functional phone.
I see some of them switching to Apple...

Yea but to clarify, they're all running iOS 6. I knew the 4/4S weren't going to work anymore but I wasn't expecting the 5 to have issues (unless updated) as well. However, while annoying, it doesn't matter because there is still zero chance I'm ever letting any of them get updated.
