I really hope they didn't start with the best they had to announce 🙄

What build up? If you mean here at MR then that's hardly Apple's fault. This is a site that needs to generate content, so they talk about whatever they can as much as they can.

Never seen anyone using a crossbody strap in the wild, but holy cow, that look like a thief magnet.

Bought one for my wife’s iPhone 17 Pro. She uses it when she’s in places she feels her iPhone might be at risk and it gives her great peace of mind. Far from allowing it to be a thief magnet, she hides the iPhone under a jacket/coat and doesn’t need to put it into a pocket (a win for her). This works very well. Also, when climbing into and out of awkward places she finds it feels more secure (she dropped a previous iPhone into a river climbing out of a boat!). So, understandably, it’s not for everyone but for some it’s a genuine boon.

I read "Electric Lavender" and got all excited. Then I got to the pictures and saw that it is pink - it's a very nice pink, and I like pink, but it's almost exactly the same shade that we already got. It doesn't have anything to do with lavender.

Apple cannot put out a good strong, medium brightness, saturated color, band or case in purple, green, or lavender, if their life depended on it - 97 shades of blue, tons of saturated reds and yellows and oranges, but not even near misses for green and purple. Their attempts at purple are off white, super dark, or with a wild over abundance of either red or blue. It's all either "we added some purple or green to this vat of super dark gray pigment" or "we added one single drop of purple or green to this vat of white pigment". 🙄

The purple and green stripes in the striped pride sport band, a few years back. show that they are physically capable of creating those colors, but they... just don't.

The colors for the Sport band are nice. I like both Bright Guava and Clementine. As for the cases, the Electric Lavender and Guava are nice. Bad that Pro models are missing out on lavender.

A crossbody strap is much safer than putting your phone in your pocket or bag.

$549 for a rubber strap is insane! They can argue with their leather bands (while still being heavily overpriced), but rubber? Aproaching the price of the Ultra with a normal band is crazy
