I fear that day.
iPhoto to Photos has shown me clearly enough not to trust today's Apple...
The longer iTunes stays untouched the better IMHO.

Couldn't agree more
@Glassed Silver. The iPhoto/Photo switch was the most blatant example of Apple taking a 'we know best' approach & the needs of users be damned.
Like iTunes iPhoto may not have been perfect & it may have been sluggish (in 99.9% of cases that was for users with Macs that needed to be retired) but to turn it into a desktop version of an iPhone app was nothing short of a betrayal.
I've been using iPhoto as a library manager since the earliest versions & Photos basically destroyed that sort functionality. So despite having two newish iMacs running 10.12.4 I still use iPhoto.
And I might add they are obviously quite intentionally damaging the functionality of iPhotos every time they update the OS. Latest OS update the 'delete after importing' option disappeared for no explicable reason.
It will hit a point for us where we'll have to have one Mac that will be running an older OS just to be able to still use iPhoto because I don't have the time to sit down & reorganise 50,000+ images in Lightroom.
But back OT... changes introduced in iTunes 12.6 have been pretty appalling like the now pretty much useless 'mini-player' that's twice the size it used to be & carries 1/2 as much info.
I mean seriously, what sort of genius thought that was a good idea?
Do they conduct focus groups with users who have never actually used iTunes (or other apps)?
I'd also beware that this iTunes 12.6.1 update seems pretty buggy for some users as the Apple forums are full of people who have been all but locked-out of the app by the update.

I want back the album artwork icon in MiniPlayer!!!!
Agree 110%!!! And making teh mini-payer an actual mini-player again would be kind of nice too...

Artists are displayed a hundred times faster now – thumbs up! Always made the beachball come up before.
Now If only Apple would put this stuff in their release notes.
I believe they should include information about features they are REMOVING or seriously changing in an update so that users can make genuinely informed decisions about updating.

Always entertaining to read these comments and ponder just how on earth folks get so worked up about "Apple" being so bad at this or that, or iTunes being terrible, yet we all still apparently use the stuff. I think some people just like the smell of their own armpits. I think iTunes is great software!
You're missing the point... people get worked up BECAUSE they think teh app is awesome, I know I do.
The issue is when they take away useful features for no explicable reason & introduce obvious bugs as this version & update has.
