When is Apple going to completely repeal and replace iTunes with something new?

Question is what that "something" is. I think "repeal" is more likely than "replace" and that Apple will move to syncing everything through the cloud - basically you'll sync photos via icloud, all media will be direct download from iTunes store (available on all linked devices, with local storage as needed), mail/calendar/contacts/etc sync through icloud or other cloud providers. Which leaves owned music (i.e., ripped from CDs), which I suspect they'll drop support for sooner or later.

As stated previously this is a mess to have two versions of iTunes:

and now that iTunes is 12.7.1 that leaves 12.6.3 in high water with no upgrade path.

This is why you don't remove features without alternatives. I have no issue with removing the App functionality from iTunes but provide some replacement. Not having a migration path is terrible software management. Doing this is just lazy, bad customer support, and anti-consumer to tell businesses and customers that require this to just "deal with it".
