Apple today released a new App Store application called iTunes Connect Mobile [App Store link], designed to help developers access sales data for their applications distributed through the App Store.
The application is compatible with the iPhone and iPod touch on iPhone OS 3.0 or higher and will also run on the iPad, although not it is not a universal application and thus lacks an iPad-specific interface.

iTunes Connect Mobile marks Apple's sixth official iPhone application, joining Texas Hold'em, Remote, Keynote Remote, MobileMe iDisk, and MobileMe Gallery. The company has also released iBooks and its iWork suite for the iPad.

Wow, this is super cool news for people in the music industry. I thought they'd never do something like this. Very, very cool.

Wait, so Apple did not make a dedicated iPad app, yet they want 3r parties to make them? Pixel double iPhone app are a terrible experience at least IMO.

    Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

Doesn't give a dollar breakdown, only number if units. So I'm sticking with AppSales Mobile.

Why is it cool for people in the music industry? I thought it was for developers to track sales of apps and ads?

I haven't tried it yet, but if that's the case then I'll keep using AppSales Mobile too.

I've also been trying appannie.com, which is free while they're in beta... nice graphs, and the rankings tracking is good to have.

... and I've been using a free Mac OS X app called "MajicRank" to keep track of rankings.

Raise your hand if at first glance you thought this was for wireless syncing.

Do apps like this (that appear to just be using standard buttons and other SDK elements) need to be updated? I wasn't aware that any pixel doubling would occur on an app like this.

I don't have an iPad, though, so I don't know.

Glad you said that! I, too, was hoping this was a wireless syncing app...then I read the article.

    Oh, well.

not that this isn't cool, but (for a second) i totally thought this was Apple releasing something that would allow me to sync my iPad/iPhone from afar. Still cool!

Pixel doubling occurs on all iPhone-only apps. The text looks very terrible.

You can play poker with your kid. You can't ...um... with your kid. At least, I'd hope not.

    Poker, but not poke 'er.

It is quite disappointing that it doesn't show sales (as in money). It just shows downloads.

Hopefully they update it soon to be a bit more useful. For now, im sticking with Appsales Mobile which you can find on github. And it is also available for the iPad.
