They really need to make a Logic for the iPad.
It's called Garageband for iPad. Right now, you can't ask an iPad more than 8 tracks with some effects and software instruments...

That's hardware impossible, with iPad, afaik.
USB 2 can cope with 4 mono channels streaming. To stream 5+ mono channels you need to use the firewire port thus you would need a Firewire on the iPad.
cheers
Or a THUNDERBOLT! Hmmm... iPad and a UA Apollo for the audio I/O and plugin DSP... hmmmm... sounds doable really if they can get the code efficient enough, and make an IP with Quad cores to pull off the mixing and audio playback. That's hardware impossible, with iPad, afaik.

For some reason this brings me out in a cold sweat of fear...
we don't want an iOS OSX merger. not now, not ever.
New as of Logic 9.1.6
Logic pro which was from the studio boxed upgrade no longer functions.
Logic pro and Logic studio are pretty much the same thing.
What version of Logic did you have before 9.1.7, and did it run OK?
Make sure you try things like trashing the prefs. And if reinstalling the app doesn't help, it could be at the system level. Definitely make sure you repair permissions along with any other OS/disk diagnostics you can think of.
