Not sure if anyone else encountered this but on 15.4 (m1 macbook pro) my Messages app would just close, no errors, just sometimes randomly closes. Hope this fixes that. I only saw a few others post on Reddit and the apple community forums

Hoping this fixes an issue I have seen with a very small percentage of my M1 fleet not being able to update to 15.4. Will have to test soon.
I have a 2021 MBP w/ M1 Pro that could not upgrade to 15.4 despite command line, safe mode, recovery, reinstall, etc. I still don't see the 15.4.1 option in Software Update (Settings or command line) but downloaded the full installer linked above and am happy to say that after half an hour and a reboot, I'm successfully upgraded to . . . 15.3.2. ☹️

Always used an external ssd drive for my M2 Mac mini, applied the macOS 15.4.1 update and now my external SSD drive is corrupt and won’t boot and disk repair is unable to fix it, I still have access to the drive. The data volume was corrupted, all data was lost. Last time machine was one month ago. Ugh o_O
Looks like a restore from backups after reformatting and reinstalling the OS, this is getting like windows. I don’t have time for this.

Hello Mac People!

Just updated - anyone else getting a really annoying new bug where the Passwords pop up now appears in the top left of the Safari window and not under the text box? Was fine until the update.

For everything fixed we are blessed with new annoyances, eh!

I have exactly the same problem since 15.4 on my m4 iMac, and upgrading to 15.4.1 doesn't seem to solve this problem. Interestingly, my older Intel iMac doesn't have this problem with 15.4 or 15.4.1... Did the problem gone for you after upgrading to 15.4.1?

It hasnt closed on me yet but I think i need more time to tell. Sometimes it would stay open for a day, sometimes for an hour

After adding message app to "Full Disk Access" under "Privacy & Security" of System Setting, it has been on without closing!! You might want to try this.

My M1 was so bad I had to go to the Apple store and have them fully install MacOS 15.4, firmwares and all. A full re-install on a wiped drive didn't fix this mess of an issue so I would be very interested to know if this little update fixed it, however, from what I am reading it is not really fixing anything but causing even more issues. I'm very weary of 15.4.1 now.

Apple today released macOS Sequoia 15.4.1, a minor update to the macOS Sequoia operating system that launched in September. macOS Sequoia 15.4.1 comes two weeks after the launch of macOS Sequoia 15.4.

Well. Hosed my M4 mac mini. Got a weird password request to access the startup disk. Rebooted several more times than told me Mac OS must be REINSTALLED. Chose reinstall instead of restore from time machine and sitting now at FOURTEEN HOURS and FOUR MINUTES. I had several custom settings to be able to use my music hardware Apogee duet and UAD satellite that will be GONE. Will take me a full day reinstalling settings, drivers, and whatever to get that gear to work.

DO NOT INSTALL THIS NIGHTMARE UPDATE.

Since this macOS release (Sequoia 15.4.1), my 49" Sansung extra-wide monitor is no longer working. I can use other external monitors, and the monitor works on other laptops, so I've narrowed it to my MacBookPro running macOS Sequoia 15.4.1. The monitor is not being recognized in the Displays setting. Is anyone else having this issue?

This tricked worked for several days. Unfortunately, this message app problem came back suddenly today...
