Nonsense.Basically the whole history of software updates since the 1980s.
Seriously??Bug fixes and security updates for a .X update? This should have been 15.5.1, then.
Mind sharing what display it is? I’m trying to decide on a new one and having a confirmed 240 Hz one would be nice.Nice, I now have up to 240 Hz of variable refresh rate on my display that supports up to 240 Hz. During 15.4 and 15.5 that maxed out at 165 Hz for some reason. But now fixed on 15.6.

I'm still on 14.6.1FWIW, for those of us trailing a full OS version behind, Sonoma also has an update.

Nonsense.
I usually wait for x.2 or x.3 before upgrading. Then dive in and stay to date.I’ll be joining the 1release behind the current … getting tired of debugging and troubleshooting iApples QA/QC

Of course - what else could be more interesting in a macOS update than fresh wallpapers. 😂 😂 😂I haven't kept up with updates. Are there any new wallpapers other than the one they previewed at dub dub?
So explain to me why 14.7.7 is .x.x instead of being 14.8, as they did for Sequoia. Inconsistencies like this simply confirm how leaderless the company is, in terms of ensuring care and perfectionism across the board.Nonsense.
These vulnerabilities- particularly the ones related to WebKit- will certainly be patched in a separate Safari 18.6 update which typically follows slightly behind the OS update. However, Apple has publicly committed to only providing all known security updates for the latest version of their OSes, so some things may remain unpatched.35 (40%) of the 87 vulnerabilities patched in the 15.6 security update were NOT included in the 14.7.7 update- i.e. they were very likely introduced in MacOS 15. Instead of adding eye candy like the upcoming liquid glASS, Apple should find and patch security vulnerabilities.
It may be required for security fixes, on all devices. But as others suggested, it could wait a few days with auto-update.I used to like Mac OS updates. Now. it feels more like a chore fest. You have to update, your Mac,your phone, your TV and even your watch. Do all these devices require the same amount of updates and at the same time ?
You sure have a fair for the dramatic. There's never been a fully consistent version scheme across different macOS versions dating all the way back to Mac OS 9 and probably even further than that.So explain to me why 14.7.7 is .x.x instead of being 14.8, as they did for Sequoia. Inconsistencies like this simply confirm how leaderless the company is, in terms of ensuring care and perfectionism across the board.
Although there are still some bugs, Apple updates have been reliable for several years. But I still wait a few days just to be sure. That's why I'm reading the comments for this post.I just let everything auto update. Within a week or so, it's all done.
