Same. I was ready to pull the trigger but decided to check on OS compatibility. Glad I did. I typically upgrade OS each year when macOS x.1 comes out in mid to late autumn. Now I'm just avoiding it as long as I possibly can. Hoping the rumors about a Snow Leopard style update coming next year are true. I think most of those rumors have been for iOS/iPadOS, but macOS really needs it as well. And I'm tired of Liquid Ass!

Looking at 5K/6K options from ASUS, BenQ, ViewSonic, and LG now. Some of the reviews on Amazon right now seem a little sus for some of them, and some of them the price is high enough that I question if it's worth it for something that isn't Apple. Might also look into deals on the old 5K Studio Display. Or maybe even the XDR would come down in price. What I really wanted was just a 6K Studio Display. Doesn't even need 120Hz. 60Hz or 90Hz would've been fine! My studio is a light controlled environment, so I don't need something super bright, although better contrast would be nice at times.

I kinda wonder if they'll bring out a 6K XDR again next year. Perhaps they needed newer, faster Macs to power it at 120Hz?
All the latest Macs w/ Thunderbolt 5 can handle 6K XDR @ 120Hz just fine. There's no issue there bc TB 5 has plenty of headroom.

It just comes down to panel availability and price. The panel doesn't exist (yet). And if it did, it'd cost like $7,000+. They're trying to hit the $5,000 mark for a 32". They can't yet. So we wait a few more years until price comes down.

Would have ordered one of these but unforunately being forced to use Tahoe is a dealbreaker.

Hopefully they get enough data to realize they need to get it together with the OS quality
I already ordered it as I really need a new screen and only read about this now. Now I'm so torn. Maybe I'll just try if it works with Sequioa and otherwise return it. Or maybe Apple will finally coerce me into Tahoe...

And what a completely *****y release it was. It just borked Universal Control, again. Interestingly, it works fine under macOS 26.4 Beta 3, with only some cosmetic glitches on the Displays and its Arrange modal panel (on the main panel, desktops other than the main one will appear black, and on the Arrange panel they’ll be transparent).

I really do hope they work on the WindowServer … on my two MacMinis the situation is becoming unbearable. The one with the M2 Pro chip crashes once a day now, and the second with M1 is so slow I'm backing things up and preparing for a full reset and a Sonoma rollback.

Funny, on the old MacBook Pro with Intel i9 I do not have any issues …
Same here, I had the WindowServer crashes on my M1 Max Mac Studio, too…

I’m sticking with my 2019-era Dell P2415Q, and will look for a 2022 Studio Display model used for cheap
