Apple today released macOS Tahoe 26.4.1, a minor update to the macOS Tahoe operating system that came out last September. macOS Tahoe 26.4.1 comes two weeks after Apple launched macOS Tahoe 26.4.

Mac users can download the new software by opening up the System Settings app and navigating to the Software Update section.

According to Apple, macOS Tahoe 26.4.1 addresses an issue that could cause the M5 MacBook Air and M5 Pro/Max MacBook Pro models to fail to join 802.1X Wi-Fi networks when using content filter extensions.

Update: According to several readers, the update also fixes an issue experienced by Intel-based Mac users on macOS 26.4 that resulted in broken customized folder icons.

Not showing up for a M4 MBP. I did just upgrade from 26.3.1 to 26.4, so wondering if there is a cool down window.

Setting up new iPad today, 26.4.1 released whilst setting up. Failed to transfer data from iCloud, so had to erase and start again.
This was the keyboard layout, only after the second time as the first time it only showed 1/4 of the keyboard zoomed.

Absolutely mint system. Glad it’s so polished.
I have seen it the keyboard shrink the other way on iOS 26.4.
Instead of compressed from the sides, it was compressed from the top. 🤣

On the other hand, there is no updates for Sequoia as of right now.

Apple's Enterprise release notes reveal that this resolves “an issue where MacBook Air with M5 and MacBook Pro with M5 Pro or M5 Max failed to join 802.1X Wi-Fi networks while using content filter extensions.” Otherwise, this update has no published CVE entries, and no general user release notes.

Makes me suspect Apple is vibe-coding their software now.

From now on I'm going to consider the term unspecified bug fixes to either mean:

a) so many we'd rather not list them
b) so bad we'd rather not admit them
c) both of the above
It could also mean:
(d) an AI suggested it would be better to code function F this way rather than what we did before, we did not really understand the suggestion, but we thought "let us find out" we hit the replace key; please let us know what you think!

However, at this point, I would be more interested in a "List of bugs introduced" by each release than in the detail of what gets (probably wrongly) "fixed"...
